[Anyone who spends any time at all with Nepeta should have noticed her absence the past day or so. She'd been just about everywhere hunting for easter eggs for a while, skipping about with two great baskets, one on each arm, and apparently throwing herself completely into this fun new game.

And then she just didn't show up any more.

Until now.]

My Pounce! Look, look everybody! It's my Pounce! She found me again!

[The feed shows a delighted Nepeta and a great white double-mouthed cat purring loudly and nuzzling all over her charge.

Yes, this is indeed why the small kittytroll hasn't been around. She's been busy cuddling her lusus, and has been for a while judging by the white hair covering her hat and coat.]

Oh, oh, this is the best day efur!

I... was under the impression that my lusus was dead. I was quite explicitly certain of it in fact. Mine is prancing about in the kitchen, attempting to prepare dinner.

... I am ... confused, I admit. Not complaining. It is a pleasant thing to have them back, but ... confused. It is good, however, to see yours back amongst us as well.

[There is going to be a kitty troll riding a giant cat charging into the kitchen in a moment.]

[He moved the plates out of the way and scooted the table to the side. It just seemed prudent, since he had the moment to prepare for the oncoming invasion of furrballs.]

[It is extremely prudent, as the moment they enter the kitchen they're both leaping into the air. Aurthour is pounced on by the relatively small weight of Nepeta, while Pounce slams into her little one's moirail, licking at him in pleased greeting.]

[And Equius was down on the ground, grunting and looking up at the large cat licking at him while he allowed him a small chuckle.]

It has been a while since I experienced that.

She missed you! And yes, yes, I missed you too of course, Aurthour!

[She clings about the centaur's neck, while Pounce looks smug and settles down on top of Equius. She always liked him not just for being her little one's moirail, but also for being the only one strong enough for her to lie down on.]

That much is explicitly apparent. It appears that she has elected to use me as a rug again.

[He didn't sound annoyed, really, and Aurthor was already more than used to this sort of thing. He was currently counting his blessings that pats from Equius weren't so nearly lethal as they used to be.]

[Pounce purrs away and gives his face one or two considering licks. She's probably deciding if he needs a good grooming or not.]

Heehee, you were always her very favourite for that! [Nepeta is busy patting Aurthour's head and snuggling him, very glad that she's not the only one with her lusus back. She knows how Equius has missed his butler-like caretaker.]

[He always needs a good grooming, though a licking grooming isn't exactly on his list of things to do, and he grumbles and squirms uncomfortably under that sort of attention.]

It would appear so. I think it's partially because I was always the most sturdy for that sort of thing.

[He would never openly admit to missing Aurthor as much as he actually did, but it was nice to see him getting attention, even if he himself was just as uncomfortable in the process.]

Here, Pounce! Let's see what's in the thermal hull!

[Those are the magic words which get Pounce off of Equius and help her forget any ideas she may have had on grooming. Food!]

[He slowly managed to get to his feet and brush himself off, taking one of his many many towels to clean the saliva from his face. Walking over to his lusus, he patted him on the shoulder and looked to the others.]

The two of you must be hungry. I was just starting to put some food together. If you'll take care of Pounce, I will get something for the two of us.

[And he was glad he hadn't tried for a luxury grade home. Keeping both of the lusi fed would take a bit of money too.]

We're starving! I can do that, I know what she likes to eat, I'll find her something yummy for now. After today we'll find somewhere to go hunting together purrhaps...

[She's been thinking about just how much meat her mamacat consumes too.]

What are you making for me and you?? And what about Aurthour?

That would probably be best. The outskirts of town beyond the walls might afford something appropriate.

[He rubbed at his chin and considered.]

Probably something simple. Pasta or a steak do you think? Either would not take too much effort, after all.

We'll go exploring together, just like old times!

[Equius should know by now that mentioning meat to Nepeta will override any other choices - except, perhaps, sweets.]

Steak! Let's have steak for dinner, Equius.

Hmm, yes. Steak I can do. It is not as if we do not both like our steaks rare, is it not? That could be done quickly enough... And there was something I wanted to try.

[He pulled a small box out of the cupboard, looking at 'instant mashed potatoes' skeptically.]

What's that? [She climbs up his side and dangles around his neck, trying to get a look.]

Supposedly these things are potatoes, but I am not sure that I believe them. You add this to water, and it turns into something else.

Hmmm, worth a shot, wouldn't you agree?

But it's a tiny box! How can there be potatoes in there?

[She looks very doubtful.] I suppaws we can try.

It's what it says. Let's see if it is full of lies. If it is, we can bomb the plant together, what do you say?

If it does not produce the correct mash potatoes, absolutely. Failure cannot be tolerated in such a thing.

[Of course, they actually were instant mash, so... he started heating the water to boiling as directed.]

[She hovers nearby, eyes fixed on the proceedings.]

...can we blow it up a tiny little bit even if it does work?

[He's added the stuff to the boiling water and stirred it. Sure enough, mashed potatoes, like magic. It's awe inspiring.]

[He waved and gave her a growl while he stirred it. Soon it needed to be set off and the heat turned down. He took out the meat and set each slab on a plate before ladling out potatoes.]

It's very hot Nepeta, no leaning in close.
