[That's a very ill-tempered expression this new arrival is wearing. He's got a zippo lighter in one hand, and he glares down at the dancing flame for a moment before looking back up at the camera.]

You know what's bullshit, Asgard?

[He holds his hand over the flame just long enough to leave an ugly welt, then shows his palm to the camera; although the process is slow, the blistered red skin is visibly starting to heal.]

This, right here, is bullshit. I'm not Logan. Who the hell would want to be Logan. My name is Pyro, because I manipulate fire. I don't care who these "gods" are, or what they want, or why they did it - you don't mess with a mutant's ability. Give me back what's rightfully mine, what I was born with, and maybe there won't be any trouble.

[Totally unaware that he's just made the least original first post ever, he ends his side of the feed and waits for responses.]

They like taking away what you were born with, apparently. Isn't it just terribly rude?

Supposedly we'd die if we had it, but that just doesn't make sense. Not yet, anyway. Trying to work that out.

Someone gets it. Thank God. I thought there was some kind of high-level mind control going on here.

I think anyone who's had an ability taken from them gets it. It's just a little more complicated than that, is all. And I'd imagine it's a bit traumatic to watch others die because they got their abilities back.

Things like that tend to quell people.

Hey, you said it. That doesn't make any sense. If the ones in charge here have the power to change genetic makeup on this level, they sure as hell have the ability to blow someone up and claim it was because "they got their abilities back." And that's pretty handy if they're the ones giving out and controlling the abilities we do get.

Oh, yes, that's a possibility. But right now, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, because if Ragnarok is real...

Well, then I don't agree with their methods at all, but I can understand.

That's a pretty big if, especially if it means throwing away what you are.

It's a very big thing. But I wouldn't say you're any less what you are as long as you still know it yourself.

That's not really how it works. You're not pyrokinetic if you can't control fire. The X-Gene is my birthright, and no one's stealing it from me.

I usually have two hearts. I'm supposed to see time and feel the turn of the planet. They took that, but that doesn't suddenly make me straight-through human. I know who I really am.

Congratulations. I'd rather be who I am than just know it.

So would I! But sitting around talking about how much I want it isn't going to get me anywhere; the gods don't listen, so it's up to us to figure out how it works and what there is to do about it.

Which, admittedly, hasn't been my main focus. More concerned about getting out of here, myself. Or at least getting my ship here.

One or the other, it's all the same to me. Come up with anything yet?

No complete answers yet, I'm afraid. They're really good at making it difficult for us - by this point I would normally have the whole mystery figured out a long time ago.

At least you say "difficult" and not "impossible." I don't wanna talk to another person who's given up and expects me to do the same.

If something can be done, something can be done to undo it. Or go against it.

So what hasn't worked for you?

Well, I want to try to find paths through the fabric of the universe, but it looks like I'll have to get into the castle that everyone arrives in and that's always locked.

Anyone tried explosives?

Hm. No...

There's a war going on, there must be explosives around. Unless they've got a magical bullshit shield around themselves, it's worth a try.

There's not really much of such modern things around, but I can always have a look.

Don't forget to ask around, either. I'll do the same. With so many different types of people here, there could be someone who can build them out of what we can find. If you're creative, explosives can be made out of almost anything.

[And his face creases with anger again. He'd be a walking explosive, if they hadn't screwed with him.]

Oh, yes. I can probably look at that too. Won't be new to me.

Well, I can't say I've built explosives before, but plenty of other things. Can't be that different.

[He actually laughs at that.]

And people call me overconfident. [It sounds more like a compliment than an insult, though.]

It's not overconfidence. I'm clever, rather brilliant, and that's just fact. Got a lot of years on my back to prove it.
