Seven ★ Video
[It's assumed that Draco is around somewhere despite not being on camera immediately, judging by the fact that when the feed starts travelers are greeted with a nice view of a bedroom wall absolutely covered in diagrams, charts, graphs, drawings and notes. Literally every square inch of the wall above the bed is covered in paper marked with random colored pens. It's assumed the rest of the room is set the same way. In the background, anyone listening can hear a coffee maker brewing a new pot.
War's never been one of Draco's favorite things, but the battles in Asgard have made him think of his home world and the situation he's in. He hates thinking about it, but he's started dissecting everything he knows…hence some of the charts that are overlaying some older charts. When Draco begins to speak, he's still out of the line of vision, if only because he can't exactly face the city just yet.]
…I know this man at home who's trying to, more or less, recreate the entire world. A perfect world where everyone's exactly the same and everyone who's considered less than worthy is punished severely if they're not outright killed immediately. [This is bad. This is a bad idea to be bringing this up, but Draco's full of bad ideas and bad decisions lately.] Actually, his favorite method is to torture them severely before sparing them and then murdering them with a flick of the wrist.
But the thing is, despite the fact he's more or less a slit-nosed homicidal freak, he has a large following. Many follow him out of fear, but there are just as many who follow out of loyalty. There are many people who actually, genuinely believe our world will be better if we follow his plan for destruction and reconstruction. It's messy and violent, and yet they go along with it anyway. Funny how that works, isn't it? One has to wonder why. [It's probably for the best that Voldemort's not around to hear that one of his servants is basically disregarding everything he's been taught. But after his last conversation with Jade? Maybe he really doesn't have to be constantly fearing for his life...maybe just every other day.
Let's get to the point, shall we? His hand appears in the frame of video and he's pinning a fresh piece of paper to the wall above the bed. He soon takes out a pen and in a neat, elegant scrawl writes something on the top of the page.
The art of persuasion and manipulation
His hand hovers in midair for a moment before he withdraws it.]
What is the fine line between persuading people and manipulating them? And, as a bonus question, what is the fine line between safety and fear? Sometimes I have to wonder if the rulers of this world aren't any different, what with having to do their bidding without even asking us. And yet we do it anyway because we're told it's better this way. [He knows it's a stretch, but it's still a valid point in his opinion.] As you can see, I've plenty of room on the paper so give me something worth writing.

Ah, his accent. She's familiar with it.]
What makes them not worthy?
[... honestly? She thinks it makes a lot of sense. But, again. Appearances.]
Because magic should only be kept among those who are born into it. Purebloods should only be breeding with purebloods and really, what's the point of having the Statute if our kind are going to go out and breed with muggles anyway? He believes that we as purebloods are greater than muggles and that we should therefore be consistently putting them in their place, dominating them and overruling them. The strong against the weak, if you will.
But you don't believe that.
[video] 1/2
[And before he can really dispute that, she sits up and smooths her hand over the pile of ruffled skirts around her, as if trying to tame them.]
[video] 2/2
And it's messy and violent, too, but not because he wants it to be. The unworthy ones have been at war with him for a long time, killing him and all of those close to him, over and over again, thinking that they're doing good for the world when really they're only making it worse.
[She pauses, long enough to tap her chin in thought.] He's fat. And he likes to smile a lot, even when things aren't very funny. And he has funny ears, and wears a lot of funny top hats. But even if he looks very funny, he has a following, too, and they don't follow him out of fear. [..... mostly......] They follow him out of love. Loyalty. Family.
You see, he wants to recreate the world so that, even when we die, we can still be with the ones that we love the most.
-- and that's what's most important, isn't it? To be with the ones that you love. The unworthy ones, they fight each other, kill each other, take each other for granted and rarely get anything in return for it. Who wants to be in a world like that, when you can be with the ones you love the most?
The chosen ones, the worthy ones, if you will, are greater, because they are stronger in every way than the others. I guess you could also say it's strong against the weak...
[Her tone is soft as she speaks, but even for as soft as it is, it's spoken with a notable sort of conviction. Almost matter-of-factly.
There's another pause, before she rests her chin on her palm.]
Maybe you can't, but I definitely hear the difference.
...it was all very complex, he supposed.]
I suppose I see the difference, yeah, but the fact of the matter remains. If this man is continuing to try and make the world a better place like that, why hasn't he been entirely successful yet?
And how can a person die multiple times anyway? [Not that he really has room to ask the question. Hello, Draco. Voldemort died and came back.]
Do you? [Smooth, smooth, sooth. And, from seemingly out of the ruffles of her skirts, she brings out a lollipop and begins to unwrap it.]
I didn't say he was unsuccessful. He's gotten pretty far! [Japan has been wiped clean, for the lack of a better term, but she'll not go into that.] And it isn't for the lack of followers.
Why hasn't the man in your world?
He's...been highly successful so far, actually. Much more than those resisting him may have expected.
[She only condescends when she doesn't think you're being completely truthful with her. That said, what he'll see is a little... girl? young woman?... surrounded by a swirl of skirts and pillows eating a lollipop. One who apparently doesn't care much for modesty, as she finally squirms onto her belly and kicks stockinged feet behind her.]
You don't have to say it, out loud, though ♥ I understand private matters~
[She turns the lollipop oveer on her tongue.] Do you think the man in your world will be successful?
He's not sure what to make of Road, other than she looks like a humanized peacock. He's got a problem with peacocks, to be honest. He's resisting the urge to roll his eyes when she speaks.]
Most likely. He's a force to be reckoned with and it'd take a complete fool to rise up and attempt to stop him. It'd take a stronger fool to actually beat him.
I'm just saying that a true loyal follower wouldn't have as hard a time telling a perfect stranger where his loyalties lie.
[She rather likes peacocks. They're pretty.]
There's one in every world though, isn't there? At least there's one like that in mine.
[..but he's caught there, and he stops again tot hink how to spin this in his favor once more.] Well obviously, but what would be the point of me disclosing my loyalties in Asgard when it doesn't actually matter?
[They're nice until your father's pet peacock chases you around the garden when you're a young child because you terrorized it. Then not so much.]
So what are they like?
[She brings herself a little higher on her elbows and licks her lollipop.] Oh, he is very silly. A very silly boy. He thinks he can save everyone and once almost blew himself up to try and do it!
[That had been an intereting show.]
But he's the best ♥
[video]
Almost blew himself up. What stopped him from actually blowing up? [Maybe if he focuses on this some more instead of what Road wants him to talk about...]
According to him~, you find all the answers you're looking for in the things that people don't actually say ♥
[This is exactly why she doesn't care about the change in subject. Silence is the clearest answer.]
Somebody hit him.
...with what?
[And it was hilarious.]
