[Open Action for Freya house/ Filtered Text] A little sadstuck....

[After discovering and confirming that his dad was in fact gone, John spent most of the day downstairs watching movies on the big screen tv in Freya house. Although astute observers may notice that he's zoning out a lot and not really paying attention to what's on the screen.

This is the second time his dad had left him without either of them getting a chance to say goodbye. And... he knows he should consider himself lucky to have gotten the chance to see his dad again. But somehow it doesn't help. And where exactly had he gone anyway? Back in their universe he's already...

And it hurts to think of how much time he had wasted. How much more time they could have spent together. Both back home and here in Asgard. He'd never even gotten the chance to tell him all the stuff that had happened in the game. Or to ask what he had done and seen.

It's somewhere between 2 and 3 in the morning when John realizes that his current chosen distraction isn't doing it's job. And he really doesn't feel like sleeping yet. So he's sending a quick text. Who knows, maybe one of his friends is still up.]

[It's late; early, if you want to look at it that way. The theater downstairs is empty, save for one young traveler...Which, to be quite frank, is a little irritating for Freya...She had plans to come down here late with Freyr, once all of the travelers were asleep...Or at least, once they were supposed to be asleep...

[Yet, here we have John. She stifles a sigh, keeping poised as always, pausing behind him with her brother in tow. She waits for John to notice before making any effort at communication...Though, knowing her brother, she's well aware that Freyr may be the first one to speak, especially considering the look on this boys face...]

[It's common for him to be trailing after his sister, though not so often in public (mostly because Freya doesn't entertain the public as much). He also really likes things like movies, so it shouldn't be any surprise that he agreed to sneaking down here to watch things with her.

He's a lot more sympathetic to strangers than Freya, and especially to Travellers, so he speaks up the moment he notices John and how sad he seems.]

...Are you alright?

Huh?

[The sudden voice takes him by surprise. He didn't expect anyone to be down here this late...]

Oh, uh... I'm fine.

[He attempts a very weak smile but fails miserably. He was never all that good at hiding his emotions.]

Sorry, is the tv too loud? I'll turn it down.

[Leave it to Freyr to try and figure out what's wrong with the child...She isn't so uncaring though, and when he denies a problem, she steps forward, head held high, but eyes softening as she looks down upon him.]

Tell me your name, Traveler.

John Egbert....

[He hasn't figured out who they are yet, but something about her seems strange. She has an air of importance that he can't quite put his finger on.]

Um, if you guys wanted to watch a movie go ahead. I know I've been kind of hogging the tv all day...

[There's a part of her that would like to take John up on his offer to give up the TV, but with Freyr there, she knows that won't be a possibility...And since he is one of her travelers, and he is, clearly, upset...]

Do you know who I am, John?

[He certainly doesn't seem to...]

[Aika's been unable to sleep, too. She's crept downstairs to get something to eat when she sees John, looking very downcast.

She hovers in the doorway.] Hey there. Are you okay?

[He glances up at her, but doesn't get up.]

I'm okay....

I just... couldn't sleep.

[She smiles softly.] That makes two of us, although I'm mostly hungry rather than tired. [A pause.] Do you, uh, need someone to talk to or anything?

Umm....

[He hesitates. He doesn't know her that well, but she has been pretty nice...]

Maybe... do you mind?

[She smiles sweetly.] I don't mind at all. Oh, just give me a second, though!

[She bounds off, reappearing a minute or so later with a bag of chips in her hand, her original goal in coming down here at such a late hour. She sits cross legged next to John and opens the packet, taking one herself before offering them to him.]

What's up?

[aggrievance]

I'm awake, John.

[There is a pause, but then he figures that he might as well be straight with her.]

my dad is gone.
i just found out this morning.

[aggrievance]

[...Ah.]

I see.
Well then, would you like some company?

[He does but... asking Rose to walk alone through the city at 2am just to make him feel better is pretty selfish]

[Sinbad had spent the past few days out and about, exploring and gathering information and sights, so when he does come back to where he's staying it's with a bit of a subdued air, skin prickling with the aftereffect of spending too long in other districts. It's easy to say he's distracted then, but Sinbad is King and well known for picking up strays, and that child sitting there near despondently catches his attention immediately.

He pads over there silently, perches on the arm rest of a couch and turns his attention to the movie in front of them. Moving pictures, man, this Asgard was pretty cool.]

Are you well, child?

[John jumps a little at the sudden voice.]

What? Oh, I'm fine....

[He doesn't really look fine.]

Did you... want to use the tv?

[hasarecord]

Is that what it's called...? [He blinks and peers at the tv a moment longer before shaking his head.] No, I would not know how to work it. I noticed you did not look well and thought I should ask.

[Sin pauses and glances away, wow what if he'd made the wrong choice? But he can't ignore someone in need and looks back at John.] Are you new here? [Maybe that explains his look...?]

Nah, I've been here for about a month now.

I just...... had a really bad day.

[Spotting a familiar face, as is pretty expected, in the theater room, Yukari slips into the room too, with a quick:]

Hi, John-kun.

[She's actually intending to just pass through, but something seems off with him.]

[He looks up from staring blankly at the screen to see who came in.]

Oh.... hi, Yukari....

[He hesitates for a second before answering.]

Y- yeah.... I'm fine.
