[Open Action for Freya house/ Filtered Text] A little sadstuck....
[After discovering and confirming that his dad was in fact gone, John spent most of the day downstairs watching movies on the big screen tv in Freya house. Although astute observers may notice that he's zoning out a lot and not really paying attention to what's on the screen.
This is the second time his dad had left him without either of them getting a chance to say goodbye. And... he knows he should consider himself lucky to have gotten the chance to see his dad again. But somehow it doesn't help. And where exactly had he gone anyway? Back in their universe he's already...
And it hurts to think of how much time he had wasted. How much more time they could have spent together. Both back home and here in Asgard. He'd never even gotten the chance to tell him all the stuff that had happened in the game. Or to ask what he had done and seen.
It's somewhere between 2 and 3 in the morning when John realizes that his current chosen distraction isn't doing it's job. And he really doesn't feel like sleeping yet. So he's sending a quick text. Who knows, maybe one of his friends is still up.]

I don't think your dad would want you to worry over him.

[He pushes the hand away, but there's a smile on his face.]
He... he wouldn't. But you know I think he'd worry over me too, if it had happened the other way around.

When I was that old I was already dungeon diving, ah but that's another tale for another day.
[He laughs, sheepish, and that hand rubs at the back of his neck, casually careful of the mass of golden necklaces he wears.]
That's a dad's job you know? If we didn't worry then who would?
no subject
Um... thirteen....
Dungeon diving? Okay, someday you have to tell me that story.
[The next bit surprises him even more.]
Wait... you have kids?
no subject
Adopted, but yes. Ja'far is the only one of my generals here; he was already around your age when he found me.
[He doesn't mention that Ja'far found him because the child assassin had been hired to kill him, but hey, clearly the best kids to adopt are assassins!!!]

[John Egbert is clearly the MOST tactful person alive.]

I'm 29, and I guess Ja'far wouldn't really take well to being called my kid, sibling perhaps, we are rather close in age. But yes, he is an army general of sorts.
no subject
How do you be an army general 'of sorts?' Isn't that kind of a yes or no question?
no subject
[Stated so casually, Sinbad, this isn't actually that common what are you doing...]
no subject
Generals are guys that lead armies. And do assassins really have that much paperwork?
no subject
Don't get between an assassin and their paperwork, you might end up strangled.
no subject
I'd kind of expect assassins to not want paperwork lying around. Wouldn't having a paper trail just make it way easier for the cops to catch them?

Your world doesn't have police?
