asgardeventide | [Open Action for Freya house/ Filtered Text] A little sadstuck....

[After discovering and confirming that his dad was in fact gone, John spent most of the day downstairs watching movies on the big screen tv in Freya house. Although astute observers may notice that he's zoning out a lot and not really paying attention to what's on the screen.

This is the second time his dad had left him without either of them getting a chance to say goodbye. And... he knows he should consider himself lucky to have gotten the chance to see his dad again. But somehow it doesn't help. And where exactly had he gone anyway? Back in their universe he's already...

And it hurts to think of how much time he had wasted. How much more time they could have spent together. Both back home and here in Asgard. He'd never even gotten the chance to tell him all the stuff that had happened in the game. Or to ask what he had done and seen.

It's somewhere between 2 and 3 in the morning when John realizes that his current chosen distraction isn't doing it's job. And he really doesn't feel like sleeping yet. So he's sending a quick text. Who knows, maybe one of his friends is still up.]

What's the bucket trick?

It's sort of a long time family tradition. We've been pranksters for generations.

You know, the one where you prop a bucket up on the top of a slightly opened door? When someone opens it, the bucket falls on their head. There are also variations where you put something in the bucket like water or glitter.

... Oh. Who fell for that one?

My friend Rose. It was pretty funny.

Haha... Is she someone I might've met here?

Maybe. She's in Odin house. You might have seen her posts on the network. She's the one who types in lavender.

And the one who's always trying to psychoanalyze everyone.

... Well, some of us might seem to be pretty easy to psychoanalyze, I guess.

Wait, the one who's always partying?

No, you're probably thinking of Roxy. She types in pink.

But I can understand how you'd get them confused. They do look a lot alike.

... We're talkin' pink versus lavender here?

[sigh]

I know a lot of people who type in a lot of different colors.

... And they're all different?

Mostly. A few of the colors are shared. Like the red and orange.

... G-Geez. Everyone has to stand out typing in your world, huh?

[He shrugs.]

I dunno. It always just seemed normal to me.

I guess it'd make things easier, potentially. As long as you get a color you like.

Wouldn't you pick a color you liked in the first place? That's what I did. There aren't actually rules or anything.

Well.... I think maybe the trolls have rules. About who can use which color. But I'm not too sure what they are.

I guess you would. But if everyone picks the same colors, it doesn't help you identify all that much, anyway.

... And those trolls have rules about everything, it seems like.

I know! I've talked to them a lot, and I still don't get most of it.

I know they have this whole thing with different colored blood. And four different kinds of romance. And they wind up fighting a lot. And they're offended by cleaning supplies for some reason...

...... You'd think if they had that much romance... Well, actually, maybe that's why they fight a lot.

Anyway, if you ever figure out all of it, write it down or something.

I better figure it out quick. At least before my date with Vriska.

If you've ever talked to her, she's the one with the spider-pirate theme going. And she types with a lot of eights.

[As fate would have it, she has talked to her, albeit a while ago. And she found her decidedly unpleasant.]

John-kun... I know it's not really my business, but I don't think she's exactly a nice person. Or troll, whatever...

Hehe, I know she can come off kind of badly the first time you talk to her, but she's actually pretty cool.

And she can be really nice when you get to know her. She's helped me out a lot.

... Maybe, but she's been kind of a bully to a friend of mine, and she wasn't exactly polite to me either.
