「 oɴᴇ ☼ vıᴅᴇᴏ ⫻ ᴀᴄᴛɪoɴ foʀ ɢᴇfıoɴ ᴘᴀʀᴋ 」
[ It's not unusual. The video just opens on a face: nose, freckles, green eyes the brightest of pretty, muted features and darting nervously back and forth. But anyone in the area may notice the trail of blonde hair leading from somewhere in the middle of the park up into one of the tallest trees where Rapunzel is sitting, relishing her surroundings and hiding at once. ]
So… Is — This is working, right? I mean - I've never really used a bracelet to talk to other people before and - [ she laughs nervously, toys with her hair ] Actually. I've never really talked to other people before in general. It's kind of — Well - [ sigh ] I just really have to ask and - [ she winces ] Sorry.
I need to know if anyone's seen a chameleon around. My chameleon. Well - my friend who is also a chameleon. His name's Pascal. And this is his first time outside too so if you could do me an amazing favor and send him to…Freyr House I think the person said? Or just - return him? My name is Rapunzel and… I would be extremely grateful.
[ And then the brilliant speech segues into a faint half-smile, a smile that eventually freezes as something occurs to her and, feigning bravery, she narrows her eyes, scowling to say loftily: ] But if anyone finds him and doesn't give him back? Or - Or they try and hurt him? I. Will hurt you. Because uh - I have a frying pan? And I am so not afraid to use it.
[ beat ]
Al…so. What's - a god?

[ooc; all-day driving, but tags will come later!]

[She waves her hand dismissively. Giving the people the items they paid for is not the purpose of her job, jeez!!]
But a carriage is... [She looks thoughtful, tilting her head slightly] It's kind of like a closed wagon, I guess? Or a cart? There's a horse that pulls it, so you don't have to walk, and it's faster too. It's pretty nice! I like to use them when I have to get somewhere quickly, since running across the whole city is a pain.
no subject
The giddiness has her nodding. ]I would love to ride in a carriage! And I can bake, Diva. Maybe we can...work together after all? Though baking isn't really work. Cooking too. That's fun.
no subject
[But she'll start walking, slowly, so that they can make it to the street where she can call for one]
It's fun! And actually, where I come from, carriages are considered old-fashioned. They have these things that are even faster! They're faster that horses, even! But they're made of metal, and make a lot of noise. But there's none of those here, that I know of. So we'll just start with carriages!
[She laughs, thinking of when she had first seen a car and ridden in it. She'd almost died from fright at the noise and speed, so starting with a carriage was for the best.]
But you definitely should! It's just called Boulangerie-Pâtisserie, which is a really dumb and boring name, but it's fun working there. I used to go there every day before I started working there. ...Ah, though I guess I still do, but it's for work instead. Another friend of mine works there too, Chane! Chane is really quiet, because she doesn't talk or anything, but she's really nice.
[this will be the most moe bakery in existence]
When Grigori comes back, I'll make sure he hires you! He's a pushover when it comes to me, so it'll be no problem.
no subject
no subject
No, it won't hurt at all! Being hired, it's just... Well, it's just when a person decides they like you, so they'll pay you to help them do stuff! So for me, I just handle money and recommend stuff for people to buy. And I guess you'd help by baking? But you'd definitely be able to make that! We sell it already, and it's really popular, so you could probably make it a lot.
[But she giggles a little bit as she moves onto the subject of Chane, shaking her head.]
Chane doesn't talk to anyone. She's mute! So she just kind of takes care of random things, like sweeping or cleaning tables, stuff like that. She has a kind of scary look sometimes, since she looks really serious and mean, but she's just shy.
[Diva nods, very assured of this, but then looks surprised.]
Ah, I almost forgot about Grigori! Grigori, he was one of the Faceless people, but I gave him a face, sort of. The people here get a face and a personality when you talk to them a lot, I think. At least, that's how Grigori got his face, since I talked to him like every day... But he reminded me of a person I knew a long time ago, so I named him after him! I guess his full name would be Grigori Rasputin, but that's kind of weird, so I just call him Grigori. But anyways, he's the one that owns the bakery. But like I said, he's a pushover, especially for pretty girls.

So that's why we're here! What the letter meant, I mean. "You have been chosen by the gods to bear the honorable task of restoring color and life to the Holy City of Asgard." It didn't really make any sense to me before but I...I think I get it. [ she smiles ] It's kind of like me. I've only known you for a little while and I already feel more colorful. I bet even Chane must have that effect on others right? No matter who the person is they change you a little.
[ Yet she wrinkles her nose as the delight of her discovery segues into a more troubling line of thought, one that puts a crease in her brow and dampens the smile that before had been so bright. Not Rapunzel can tell what it is about this question that disturbs her so much. And maybe that's what disturbs her so much. ]
But, Diva - where did the color go? Why is Asgard like this? [ she spins around with arms out, gesturing ] There had to be life here to begin with, right? So what happened to it? And people - they keep telling me to watch out for the gods, but... But why would they hurt us if they need us to be happy? It doesn't make any sense.
no subject
But the smile falls slightly at her question, brow furrowing with it.]
Ah... I don't really know why it's like this. I'm pretty sure the gods said once that it did used to be nice, but I don't really pay as much attention to them as most of the other people do. They wanted me to come here and interact with people, and I'm doing that! Anything else doesn't concern me.
[She shrugs a little]
I don't think they need us to be happy, though. I mean, being sad and stuff, that's an emotion too, right? So maybe that brings color too. That's what I figured, anyways. They haven't really done much to me or anyone I know, so I don't think much about it. All they've done to me was make me look different for a few days, but that wasn't a big deal!

Ah, kind of like my sister's adopted little brother, actually! It's like him plus me. So I was shorter and more boyish.
[Diva grabs her hair like she would make a ponytail, but it's just to draw it back and make it look like her hair is short]
And my hair was really short! It was weird, but not bad or anything.
no subject
I think you'd be really handsome. As - as a boy. I've only really met one man and he was kind of weird. [ he was kind of an idiot, too, but she'll omit that bit of judgement ] I don't have any brothers. Or sisters. Just Mother. Is it nice? Being... Having more than one person in your family?
no subject
[It sounds sad, but her tone is cool and neutral, not really showing any emotion in particular. Diva turns as well, so her back is to Rapunzel again, just leading the way. But her tone returns to light and cheerful as she changes the subject back to the first point.]
Ah, but you'll meet lots of men here, I think! They're... [She pauses, realizing halfway through her sentence that Rapunzel probably shouldn't meet most of the guys she knows. So she can't really say "nice" like she had originally planned.] ...handsome! There are lots of handsome men here!
[It feels really obvious to her that she changed what she was going to say halfway through, so she'll just awkwardly continue.]
Like...! Um, well, like my friend Johan! He's definitely one of the most beautiful people I've ever met.
no subject
The shake of her head is reluctant, but at least she shakes her head.
Men are very much the same, however. Her ability to recognize physical attraction is heavily impaired, but... Well she does like beautiful things.
The name surprises her, however. ] Johan?
no subject
Mm! He's a really good friend of mine. He's very kind and... understanding, I guess it would be.
[Diva looks ahead again, since that's the nice way to say it. But still, she's glad that she doesn't have to play the role of the monster out to eat him for this conversation.]
I think what I like the most about him is his smile, though! Well, in terms of looks, at least. It always makes me feel at ease, for some reason! But he just kind of has that effect on people, I think.
no subject
no subject
Yes, that's him! But... I think I've been here a little bit longer, actually? Not by much, though. I didn't meet him when he first got here, so I'm not completely sure.
[One carriage happens to catch her attention, and she smiles brightly, pointing at it]
Oh, well take that one! I've used that one before, and the driver, he's nice. Well, as nice as the people with like half a Face can be. [She waves her hand dismissively] You get used to that.
no subject
The cart, however, gets a dubious look. ]
no subject
Ah, it's alright! They're a little weird at first, but they're all nice and polite, at least.
[She looks back at Mr. Faceless, giving him a nice smile]
I named this one Georgy—Well, nicknamed, I guess, since it would be George, but George, it's too plain. He lives in the Baldr district and has a wife and daughter. Right?
[He nods, though it's slow, like her words had to drift through a fog to reach him. But she's clearly unbothered, turning her attention back to Rapunzel.]
no subject
It's nice to meet you, Georgy! I'm Rapunzel and I hope you get more color very soon. Though - [ As if her previous ridiculousness hasn't happened, she straightens again to peer curiously at her companion. ] What was that...jewelry-looking thing for? Why did you give it to him? Was it a present?
no subject
Oh, no, it's money! You have to have money to get things, like clothes or carriage rides. [After a beat] And food, but I think the halls have basic stuff to eat...?
[Diva has no idea and probably only went in the kitchen to steal knives.]
But if you have a job, then you earn money, so I guess it's easy? I never really had to worry about it before I came here, since my Chevalier were all rich.
no subject
What's a Chevalier?
no subject
Oh, they were... [A pause, as she looks thoughtful] I guess they were kind of like my family? But that's not really right, either. They were my knights, so they would protect me and take care of me and stuff! But they also wouldn't let me do anything fun, so even if I miss them sometimes, I like being able to do things for myself here!
no subject
That sounds - almost like a mother. [ this bit of naughtiness makes her giggle; Gothel would scold her for that, for sure ] A mother who isn't your family. Why did you need to be protected?
no subject
I guess it is, a little bit! [She laughs] But I didn't need to be protected. At least, I don't think so. But...
[And the carriage starts to move, at a gentle and leisurely pace, which Diva uses as a pause]
Well, it's because I'm a Queen. Knights have to protect their queen, right?
