[ A young girl around the age of fourteen with purple hair tied up into pigtails appears on the video feed, peering worriedly into the screen. She got the part about the ring that it was some kind of communication device, but how to actually use it was another story. What is this, some kind of Amarcian technology? She managed to at least bring up the holographic screen with a few pokes and record herself. She hasn't a clue that it's recording properly. ]

Where... are you...? Can you hear me?

[ She brings up the letter and map that the maid handed to her when she arrived. She struggles to read it: ]

You have been... cho... to...

[ She trails off into silence, then starts struggling to read it again. Asbel only taught her how to read simple words. ]

You... be...

...

I can't... I can't read it...

Master... contact list? [ She glances back at the screen that's hovering a comfortable distance away from her. All these different things on here... ] Where is it?

Here, let me show you on mine, so that you can copy me... [she opens up her own bracelet's screen, then brings up the list! she makes sure to do this slowly so Sophie can follow.] Did you get that? I can do it again, if you want me to.

[ Don't worry, copying is what Sophie does best. She watches Chie awhile and mimics her movements, bringing up the same screen. ]

It worked! [ She leans in close to look at the list. She can't read very well, but she would at least be able to pinpoint Asbel's name. ] Is Asbel's name supposed to be on here?

I don't think I see it.

Asbel... that should start with an A, so...

[Chie's taking a look at the list herself... aw, shoot.]

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like he's not here. Sorry.

Oh...

[ Sophie's starting to look a little down now. No wonder she couldn't sense him anywhere nearby. ]

He might still be back in Lhant. He must be so far away...

Hey... don't be sad, okay? We've all got important people back home here. But until we see them again, we've gotta stay strong, right?

If we restore life to this world like the letter said, will we get to go back home? Will I see Asbel again?

Exactly! There's even a chance of him showing up here sooner or later.

Oh, it might be better if I show up back in Lhant where he is. He has a lot of paperwork to do...

Haha, no need to worry about that! Time works differently here. It kinda... pauses back home, I guess.

It pauses? Why does it do that?

I dunno! We don't really have explanations for a lot of things here. To me, it's just... easiest to go with it. Don't waste time thinking about it too much, yeah?

Just... go with it. Okay. [ Sophie nods her head. She'll try! But she'll probably be questioning a lot more things just in case there are answers. She's very curious! ] I'll do my best to help this world.

[Chie grins! that's definitely the kind of attitude she likes.]

[ What's our motto? Never give up! Since Chie is grinning, she'll smile a little bit. ]

That's right. I heard Thor is a strong god, which is why I have the power of strength. Do you have that power too?

And yeah, I do! Guess we have more in common than I thought! [laughs happily]

We're already getting along, I think. [ She giggles a little. Chie, you're so nice to her! ]

Hm... are we going to have to fight? Is it dangerous here?

That's right! [a grin! it's kind of her thing.]

And, well... it kind of is, sometimes. I don't think of it as being bad all the time, though. I mean, if it wasn't for some of the fighting and whatnot... I think I'd actually really like it here.

What are we fighting? Are there monsters here? I can't... sense any around... [ But that's because her built-in functions don't work here. ]

Sometimes. There aren't any around right now, and there haven't been for a while, but... there were definitely a couple of times in the past where we got attacked.

Did a lot of people get injured?

Yeah, but... well, things weren't too bad, I guess? Luckily, with the healers and stuff here, injuries aren't as big of a deal as they normally would be.

What about... deaths? Was anyone killed? Or did everyone come out okay?
