Hey. I’m not into public introductions, it feels like AA or something. Name’s Rudolf Ushiromiya, just got a few questions here for the rest of you.

Anyone know how exactly they decide where you go? It’s like a horoscope, right? Personalities and all that. So what’s the formula, if you want specifics, it’d be Baldr. If you don’t like how they judged you, who do you talk to about getting a switch? I don’t like the idea of somebody just assuming who I am.

Oh yeah, and what kind of jobs are up for grabs, or businesses that might be needed. This suite doesn’t really suit my tastes. …And I guess I’m gonna have to buy cigarettes.

Investigating Beatrice was the final task assigned to me back we were at Rokkenjima.

Whatever what we were doing before is on hold now.

Alright, well, it's farfetched, but it's exactly what any of us saw! If you can make sense of it, great, otherwise...well I dunno.

Let's see...we got a letter at dinner signed 'Beatrice' saying she'd be taking back what's hers and we'd better solve dad's riddle. Then we found all the servants in different rooms in the morning, all just lying there with these big gashes, covered in blood, they all had the keys with them too, but the doors were locked. Dad's body was in the incinerator. So we grabbed some guns and holed ourselves up with the kids and Nanjo in the guest house. Rosa and Maria went missing, I know my way around those guns so I went out to look and found them in the garden, Maria was strangled and there was a pike from the fence through Rosa's throat. There weren't any bullets missing from her gun, so we figure she knew whoever it was.

[omitting the part where he cried over it...]

Me and Kyrie came up with a plan to get some food from the mansion, so we had her push a cart while me and Hideyoshi ran beside with our guns. ...We got to the mansion OK, Kyrie and Hideyoshi switched then, but she got a bad feeling about an ambush, and you can probably guess she was right. There were butterflies everywhere, two girls in skimpy outfits with some kind of glowing spear flying around and...I'm pretty sure Aneki. One of 'em said something about 'Beatrice's orders', but it was definitely Aneki telling them what to do! We all split up to try and escape, I don't know what happened to Hideyoshi but me and Kyrie were both cornered. Goes without saying we both won, of course. The two of us met up again and some other girls who looked like some kind of weird Playboy bunnies appeared, so we hightailed it out of there, but there was definitely something coming after us, I saw something gold, then, bang. Don't know about Kyrie, but it was probably the same for her.

There's nothing farfetched about it. Don't worry. I believe everything you're saying.

The letter was the one Maria read, wasn't it? [Just confirming the side details, but once again. Nothing new to learn. It's always interesting hearing about Beatrice.]

Kyrie has sharp intuition. Woman can be scary if they're pushed on the wrong side of the bed. Two girls in skimpy outfits.

It takes him a minute to figure out what the hell he's talking about, but then Will figures he probably means the Siesta Sisters. Okay, now that makes more sense and given well Rudolf's personality...yeah. He should have expected this.]

Look those "girls in skimpy outfits" are Beatrice's furniture. They were under orders from Beatrice.

The legend of Kinzo's hidden Gold actually exists on Rokkenjima.

[Wow rude!! It's not just him, the first thing anyone would notice is their lack of pants!!]

"Furniture"? I don't know about that, they looked pretty alive...and like women.

Kyrie especially's pretty scary if she gets pushed. But yeah, you got it, Maria said she got it from Beatrice.

[Not even Will can deny the lack of pants. How do they survive in winter?]

In other words servants. They're purpose is to serve Beatrice and for that reason they were given roles.

Ever since she was a kid Maria's been engrossed with the occult. Kinzo's black magic hobbies influenced her growth.

She looked up to the witch named Beatrice because she was proof that magic existed. There was a suspicion that Maria may have been lying about receiving the letter from Beatrice herself. The credibility of a child's words is dubious.

I wonder if Kyrie might show up too. She's the only one left missing from your side of the family.

Yeah, you got it, she's always talked about Beatrice and witches, probably ever since she could read. I don't think she'd lie about it, but you can trick a kid pretty easily too.

It's pretty strange being the lone ranger [parent (he just wants cowboys okay)], if she's going to, she better hurry up so she can take over.

Taking into consideration how strong her belief was in magic and religion it was always a possibility that someone might have manipulated her. The heart is what's most important. Maria herself has done nothing wrong.

She wouldn't trick people unknowingly.

Maria's a good kid even if she's always whining, so you got it right, I can't see her saying anything like 'Beatrice gave it to me' if she didn't really believe it for one reason or other. The problem's that Rosa gets too worked up to let her explain properly, if she can.

Heh, she always used to say her job was to be my babysitter, but it's not that bad, right? I don't need a leash!

She might have been whining due to her lack of understanding. Children have a reason for these things. Don't ignore her heart.

Any parent might be uncertain if their child had a certain obsession with the occult. That isn't something kids are interested in.

Maria wanted to differentiate herself from others. Whenever the subject of occults and witches came up she would have more knowledge than the adults. No one could question her information.

I dunno, I bet plenty of kids like witches and junk, Maria takes it pretty far, sure, but kids always like the idea of magic.

It's normal definitely. For kids their age knowing something that others don't separates them from other people. That's how they create individual personalities.

Right, right, anybody who has to put up with Rosa'd need magic for a fun day for sure. I hear she got bullied too, showing the other kids you're good at something different might be a good way to fix that, right? It's too bad, she's a cute kid. Smart, too.

It was an unwritten rule to not discuss Rosa's relationship with her husband at the conferences.

That kind of thing caused uneasiness amongst the family members and Rosa would get emotional.

Without a father around Maria wondered who her father was. Eventually she came to the conclusion that her father was God.

In Christianity there was a story about a holy trinity. The son the father and Mary the mother.

Maria's name is based off Christianity, isn't it? She figured her father was the holy one in heaven.

I wouldn't know about stuff like that. But is that to do with her magic and all?

It's related to her power as witch of origins.

She can create a universe with her magic.
