first sand dollar (voice)

Look-- I get that Gods really don't care about if we want to do something, but could they at least pick better timing? I guess if they have one thing going for them they're not as big of jerks Roman ones. Some Gods really have it out for me. Starting to think I should have ate those Crispy Cheese 'n' Wieners when I had the chance. Take up a job at ROFL, nothing says fun like rainbows.

I mean I'll help, but this place doesn't look like it's under attack. The grey people are creepy, but I've seen weirder. They could be statues...

Anyway, great. So I'm here. Someone mind telling me where I can find a sword and a nice long bath? Something tells me I'm going to need it before this is all over.

☼ second kick. (video)

[ when the feed flickers on, it is in a clear, open training room in the arena. it was difficult to find a training outfit, despite all the help the natives had given itsuki--it's nothing like what is usually worn to practice in the manor. instead, just opting for a simple yellow tunic and comfortable navy blue slacks with medium-length hair tied into a low ponytail, training begins. dummies are strewn about the room, and with each dummy, a move is practiced. a certain type of powerful kick, or bruising takedown, or open-palmed hit.

when itsuki is finished, hazel eyes turn to the feed and a respective bow shows the end of the training session. ]

Hello, I am Itsuki Myoudouin.

I'm looking for a hand-to-hand combat training and sparring partner.

If there's anyone here that would be able to meet regularly, to hone their skills, please, contact me.

[ a nod. ]

Thank you.

[ itsuki hesitates, looking a bit uncertain and a little green, before moving. the feed is cut off. ]

[From where Kara comes from, because of the cylons, machines humanity made to help them, and their revolt and war against their creators, it's understandable as a result that technology suffered. People were apprehensive about it because of that, fear that the cylons could return and use their technology against them. Which turned out to be true. She has never used anything quite like the bracelet and as a result, takes a little time figuring it out. But once she does, she thinks she gets the idea after a bit of practice. She frowns at the bracelet, making sure it's on.]

Is this thing on? The frak couldn't they just give me a damned phone? Assuming others are getting this, this is Kara Thrace. I guess asking for directions back to the Galactica would be pointless, though appreciated. Because as flattering as this is, being chosen to come here and help bring colour back or whatever, I have my own war back home to deal with so I haven't got time for this. I mean, I know I'm a damned good shot, but I never signed up for this. There are cylons back home to deal with without being brought here into all of this.

[That and. Hell, this is Kara. She isn't the easiest to get along with sometimes, but for some reason these 'Gods' decided it would be a good idea to bring her here where she is supposed to just be happy and get along with everyone? Unlikely. Very unlikely. And she did not even want to think about the 'power' thing. It almost implied that they were special. And she had always hated her mother and Leoben going on at her about her being special, with her great destiny. Right. Kara Thrace and her Special Destiny. Sounded like some bad cover band or something. No way. She shakes her head, brushing some short blonde hair from her face]

I have my own beliefs, my own Gods, and these ones are not the ones I was brought up believing in. And these ones aren't the cylons 'One True God' either. If they're expecting me to be happy and grateful about all of this, they're frakking wrong. It was a bad idea to bring me here, and their timing sucks. But from what I gather, this is essentially like the brigg. We get sent back whenever they send us back and we don't get a say in it. If I'm going to be here for a while, I am going to need to find out where the bar is, at the very least. And where I can get some cigars.

[as ever, only half of ushahin's face is visible on the screen. there is a raven perched on his shoulder, preening his hair, though he's paying the bird no mind at all]

It seems this place has seen fit to remind us of late of our struggles, our fears, and our losses. Some, I'm sure, bear more than others. But in the place of my birth, what separates Men from the other races is that they have been blessed with wit and desire in equal measure. Perhaps you are not Arahila's Children, not properly, but most of you are rather close enough.

So tell me, if you will, what it is towards which you strive.
