[ This is Odin's first real public appearance since the martial law was first instated, an intentional move after the whole traitor fiasco, and despite his standard crisp black suit and ramrod straight posture, the King of Asgard is still looking a little rough around the edges. A muscle jumps in his jaw right before he begins speaking. ]

There's a decision to be made. You handled the last with a surprising amount of grace and reason, and for your hand in both getting us to this point and in the war at large, we'll give you say in this one as well.

You returned from Mimisbrunnr with the information we needed to recover Tyr's soul from Thiazi's grasp, but we've been waiting for the right moment. We need to be prepared, because as soon as we make our move, she's going to know, and she's going to be pissed.

[ At least for that much, he almost looks pleased, insofar as the only change in his demeanor being a sort of fire in his eyes. It's short lived. ]

So. Before we perform the ritual, we need to decide what to do with Tyr's soul once we have it. This is where you come in. My colleagues and I will be around to answer any questions you might have, but seeing as this is a largely personal matter for many of us, I'll remind you lot to either keep it professional or keep it to yourself.

[ Looking @ u, Freyr and Loki and any other bleeding hearts in the audience. ]

We need to act fast, so you have until sundown. And one last word of caution - [ As personal as Odin will get for this post, with an imperceptible glare. ] - do not take this lightly.

We would. But this isn't as simple a matter of what we do or do not want to happen. This will have a far-reaching impact beyond the immediate personal effects.

[ And Mimir will be heading into the room not a moment or two later. He casts a cursory glance at the video feed on the bracelet, but pays it no mind otherwise. Not yet, at least - instead, he's taking a moment to pass Honir a mug of something warm, and wordlessly uses his other hand to take Honir's free one, twining their fingers. His expression is flat, however, absolutely grave. ]

What you really need to be asking is whether or not you think he would rather stay dead. Sometimes bringing the dead back hurts them more than it helps. ( her lips form a thin line. Did you miss her??? ) You have no real idea what his soul may be going through now. Maybe he's happier that way. He might not be but these are options you seriously need to weigh.

We can resurrect him as we did Freyr when his soul was taken in the same manner. We can lay him to rest with the Mother as he should've at his passing. Or we can discuss any other alternatives you might have to posit.

[ And Freyr will just open a video feed, expression carefully neutral. He seems to be attempting to muster words, and then halts uncomfortably. He's had his soul trapped by Thiazi before, has lived through a sliver of this firsthand -- but nothing like what Tyr must have be living though.

So he just waits, vaguely uncomfortable. ]

This was all before his time, and he'd been kept out of the loop, so it was hard to know completely how to feel.]

He must. Laufey wept for years in pain and misery before it grew to consume her. It's been far longer for my - for Tyr. He surely must.

In the most literal of senses, he's currently a poison being used as a weapon. Our souls in passing revert to the most pure essence of Yggdrasil's magic. Thiazi absorbed this to use his magic against us, and it's eating away at her from the inside out.

In a slightly more abstract concept, he's a trapped spirit, one that has been held against its will for well over eighteen-thousand years. What this means for him as a sentient being is hard to judge. Laufey's spirit grew to be volatile and explosive during her imprisonment, and she embodied the same upon breaking free. There's no saying what Tyr's spirit is now.

I'm afraid I haven't been here very long, so perhaps this is old news to everyone else, however, why was Tyr's soul taken?

Quite simply: for power. Thiazi aims to bolster her lifeforce through absorbing our magic, so that she can survive Ragnarok as the sole immortal being over All.

Do we know how she might retaliate? What we might need to be prepared for?

[The question of what to with the soul is pressing, yes. But all the questions he might have had to ask already have been, and the last thing he wants to do is repeat something that's already been asked, if time really is of the essence.]

We can't predict her movements, especially when she's this unstable, but it would be a safe bet to assume she'd attack on reflex. There's no saying what the state of her magic may be in after Tyr's has corrupted it. If I were the type for guessing, I might say it won't be pretty.

I don't believe any of us are in any position to determine what to do with Tyr's life.

If he has passed, then he should be allowed to remain that way. We can continue our fight without him, and remember what has happened to him.

[Harry sounds distant when he says this, but he is fairly adamant (in his heart, anyway). Death is a tricky thing, and he doesn't like that it's up to them.]

[Yusuf debates using anon, as he's been doing on the network, but something about this makes him feel as if he should own up to his answer. Within a few moments, he types:]

we should ask him what he wishes to do

not giving him a voice in his own fate seems a rather harsh punishment for something which i am not sure is his fault

whether it is through revival or through some other means does not matter to me just as long as he can speak for himself

I think...I get this is serious. I just think he should have a say in this. If that means we need to bring him back to ask what he wants to do, to find out how much this has affected him....that's what we do. It'd at least give him the chance to choose for himself. To help us or to say....to say goodbye if this is too much for him.

[It's more than most people get, really. Clementine is just never comfortable with making these choices for anyone but always wants to help somehow.]
