I know the attack by those ice pixie... things and the ice monsters wasn't exactly fun for anyone involved, but it got me thinking on something.

Has anyone re-examined the ice on the bridge? It seems like Thiazi is getting more and more... mentally unstable, maybe that means her powers are too. Maybe that means we can do something about the ice?

I would appreciate anyone's notes on the matter if they went to examine it already. Or maybe we can organize another examination of it?

A warning to anyone new, don't touch it though, it'll cause instant frost bite... or it did when it first happened. I haven't gone to look at it since.

Well, rather than assume, that's why I'm asking for affirmation.

If it turns out that you're right, then we should definitely go check out the ice.

Is that what you're waiting for? No one's going to be able to tell you what condition Thiazi's mind is in. The only way to find out how it effects her magic is to try it ourselves.

No, that isn't what I'm waiting for. I'm waiting for people to respond on whether or not they already looked at the ice and what those results concluded, if anything.

Not whether or not Thiazi is mentally ill. That one is pretty obvious.

Hm. True enough. Might be something about it in the library, too. If Asgard's seen this black ice before, maybe someone's written about it.

Actually... that's a really good idea to check. Or maybe asking the gods directly if no results are yielded in the library. If anyone would know the frequency of the black ice, they would.

They'd know if there's a connection between a person's state of mind and their magic, too. Far as I can tell, Freyr seems to care about the travelers. He might try to be helpful.

He is rather... helpful. [And pretty, but Ritsuka wasn't going to mention that.] Yeah, I guess I'll ask him. Maybe Odin too, since he'd be the most in-depth response I think.

Hm. If Odin thought you had some chance at success he might speak to you. And you're welcome. If you need anything more, call on me; it'll do all of us a lot of good if we can find some way to get through that ice.

Well, I still need to hear back about people who might have already interacted with the ice.

But someone brought up an interesting point, if those bitten by the pixies... if they can touch the black ice.

Why would that change things? Because they both have to do with the same person's magic?

Because those that were bitten may have gotten something from those bites. It's not the first time Thiazi has infected us, this may certainly not be the last.

That's quite a risk to take on simply a 'may have'. But if you find volunteers, I'd be interested to see how it turns out. I'm sure you're right about Thiazi - she's going to come at us again, and it's best to know as much as we can about her magic before that happens.

That's why anyone volunteering will be well informed of the risks. I'm not about to let people lose their appendages for the same reason. But I'm not going to say "absolutely not" if it means we have a way to handle something that deadly.

Any advantage is an advantage we need.

Agreed. So long as you're prepared to treat frostbite, it might be plenty worth it.
