Okay, but if there is going to be a Welcome Committee, you need to do something more than just parties. They are fun but they do not help very much once they're done.

[ You. Not us, even though she's still part of the group. She's still residually grouchy over the whole ordeal and the cold isn't helping very much. ]

You know, like clothes. Warm clothes. Extra blankets. Maybe toys for kids because I do not think they will hold back on whp they bring here. I know things are tight and no one really has a whole lot to give right now but if anyone has stuff they're not using, you should think about donating it. I think there is already enough to get by, but what kind of welcome is that?

Of course they are laundered! [He sounds almost offended.] I have them cleansed every time they are put to use, though the excess is that I frequently don't have one when I need it, so I simply conjure it. It has created something of a space issue in the hive.

...Who knew that five hundred towels would take up this much space?

We can even label them so they can be returned, if they don't get given out. I don't know how many kids they are going to bring but I would rather be prepared for if and when they do.

Maybe you guys should organize something like that properly? Perhaps, for example, you could have designated drop-off and distribution locations for donated items? It might be easy to set that up in the Welcome Halls...

Ohh, good thinking! Especially the toys part. We get necessities but not a lot in the way of comforts, y'know? This is gonna be hardest on kids.

Does the city have anything like a donation center set up already? If one of the committee members is a store owner, they might let us use their place for a donation drive.

[Harley thinks hard. She doesn't want to be responsible for any part of it, but brainstorming, that's not really the same. Right?]

We could do a big donation drive to kick it off, announce it on the network, really chat it up. If the weather gets better we can do it in front of the palace gates. If it's in the middle of the city then everyone can find it easy. Then after, each welcome house can have its own donation box. Does that make sense?

[Dave has his Godtier cape on along with being bundled in blankets. He's not exactly excited about the cold. He really hates it.]

I can offer things like blankets, clothes and toys. Blankets were pretty much some of the first stuff I kept drawing up. A few of us can draw up objects through the power the Gods gave us. Even Level 1 Drawing Life can. They just have to draw out the parts and put them together themselves.

It's a bit of extra energy use, but it beats using our resources for parties when we can be using it for better things. Besides, there's some people who are pretty good hands on if asking people to expend energy right now seems a little risky. [People will be expending energy either way.]

Naw. I can help out. In the end, we kind of need to help each other since hell if our enemies are exactly the friendly type. And the Gods ain't my idea of the ideal parent. [Not that he has a good example of the latter.]
