What were your parents like? What are they supposed to be like? What makes for a good mother or father?
Henry- I'll stay with you, if that is what you both want.

[And now his father is in Asgard but didn't recognize him, doesn't remember loving his mother, is engaged to someone else, and is basically a psychopath.
So. There's that.]

Describes my father pretty much precisely.
As far as the ideal father, I'd have to say Ward Cleaver. Maybe fewer sweater vests.
But I'm over it. Dads leave all the time, not a big deal. Besides, daddy issues are so very 1993.

Mom and Dad work a lot so we can afford everything we have, so Yuiko's a latchkey kid, but whenever they get home we always have dinner together. And we take trips together when Dad can get off of work.

We'll just need to get a bigger place, but that won't be too much of a problem, I think- fairly sure it's affordable enough for us, and really, it'll do Minerva and the cats all some good to have more room than the apartment's got.

My dad was the reason I became a cop. Was he a good father?
He was committed to the job, to something bigger than himself. To something that mattered.
[That's about as close as he can come to an answer.]

[It's contemplative.]
Such goals are admirable, but when they come at the expense of family- was he a good father?

I can't really judge if they were good parents, because they were barely parents to me at all

Are either of them here in Asgard?

My parents were incredibly kind. My mother taught me all I needed to know about being a lady, and my father always made sure I had the best in life.
I would say what parents are supposed to is love and provide for their children.

Do you ever resent your mother for dying?

A good parent are those that love their children more than anyone else in the world. They'll do everything they can to protect them, motivate them, educate them, and make absolute certain they will live a well-balanced life filled with happiness and hope. Of course, a true parent would prepare their children, to the best of their abilities, for their future -- be it a fortunate or unfortunate one.
At the very least, I would do my utmost to offer everything listed to my own children.
