It would seem that the gods of Asgard have finally understood what some knew all along; that two of Holmes in the same city will either lead to madness or to a disappointing stagnancy from both sides. Especially if the two answer to the same first name; and any measure of stagnancy from one answering to the name Holmes would be a tragic matter.

As such and in an attempt to balance the equation, it would seem (1) Sherlock Holmes is no longer among us.

I trust that if you have a matter to settle with him his partner, miss Joan Watson would be all too pleased to assist you.

[ and then; as if the next thought is a fleeting thing, it is voiced, too. as if it has any connection to the previous subject.

[Taking her arm, Whale gently started to lead Jamie away from the housing. If she was expecting a kiss on the hand or anything like that...while Whale was a gentleman, he also was a bit of an idiot.]

Well, considering. House Loki is filled with -- engaging individuals but I'm beginning to think it's high time I found a place for my own.

[Whale can't help but raise an eyebrow at that, smirking slightly.]

I was starting to think the same thing. Maybe Date Number Two can be apartment searching? If you want to live on your own, I'm not going to stop you, but there's nothing wrong about looking with a friend.

That proves that despite everything that's said of them, the gods do have a sense of humor, no? assuming this -

[Whale can't help but chuckle slightly at that.]

[ yes, she had followed her; yes, she knows what she needs to know. yes, she pays native boys to keep an eye on her. it is a job that must be done. ]

But I didn't know that people could have different counterparts of themselves here as well.

Certainly. There is Jim Moriarty and Jamie Motiarty and to make things more interesting, there is John Watson from his own world and Joan Watson from my own.

I wonder why it's your world that has the opposite sex duplicates, [Whale mused, with a little frown.]

[ she smiles, gives a small, sharp squeeze of her arm in his for the mistake ]

One of Jim Moriarty and one of my own. Very similar in essence but hardly the same world.

[He can't help but wince as she squeezes his arm--though the smile on his face tells Jamie that he's fine with it.]

Parallel, if I had to guess the riddle. Nearly the same save for a few changes of gender and circumstances. Though feminist scholars would claim the change of gender is the key to understand the change of circumstances but that is a whole other debate.

Still, both need to be taken into account, [he responds, with a shrug.] And you're right. That's a whole different debate that would take the night in a very different direction.

[ her smile is crooked and amused. jamie herself feels the need to conceal her gender in her line of work, of course; but men's ignorance often works in her benefit. they never expect her to be what she is and a woman like her always cares for an element of surprise. ]

[Whale simply responded to her question of feminist theories, with a little smirk and a shrug.] I'm impartial to them. [Truth be told, it still was a bit of a struggle whenever feminism came up--there was that little part of himself that still belonged to his own home, that land without color, aka fake 1800s.]

As for the direction...well, after the restaurant of course, I'd love it if we could go back to my place in Baldr, maybe have a drink or two and see what happens from there.
