Diary Entry 01 [video]

[John is standing near his new "house", fiddling with his bracelet. He's taken everything he's heard and let it sink in before finally seeing what this bracelet can do. He's familiar enough with smartphones and webcams that he gets the hang of it fairly quickly.

His eyes glance over his shoulder to Loki house, then back to the camera. He gives his audience a charming smile]

Can someone please explain to me why Loki's colors have to be orange? I know we serve under the god of mischief, but do we have to look so tacky doing it?

It's not that bad, is it? It's a nice bright color! Very refreshing.

I'm not a big fan of bright colors. [though lbr nobody in Mystic Falls appears to be a fan of bright colors]

True. I just really wasn't expecting to be here, so I'm a little out of sorts. [and the color was the easiest thing to bitch about]

No one expects to be here... even the ones who can see the future.

Are there many of those here? I thought the gods took away such abilities.

They do, and yet no one ever seems to predict coming here before being brought here.

I bet that's frustrating for them.

I imagine so. But I think it also means something else.

[he nods, thinking his own thoughts quietly] I'll have to make a note of all this.

A note, about their inability to see coming here?

It's sort of a family tradition to write down strange happenings.

Then you're going to be writing a tomb. [She means tome.]

[he laughs] I already did.

Back home. It was very grave work, but I had to see the plot through. [he can wordplay too ]

Ah, what happened?

I finished writing and then I showed up here. Not the ending I expected, but the gods have their own ideas.

[She already said no one ever expected coming here.]

And you're in Mr. Loki's house. That's a very good house to be in.

Oh? [now that's something he didn't think he would hear] What do you find good about it?

[Video]

[madcuriosity]

Well, Mr. Loki is incredibly nice, and my big brother is in his house. He also is the one who made the network and bracelets that everyone uses.

[Video]

[dutybred]

["nice" is not a word he would've ever thought to attribute to Loki. But learning these things about his new patron god is helpful]

If he's done all that, I guess I can tolerate a bit of orange.

Mr. Loki protects us all the time, that alone is enough to make you tolerate orange.

[he smiles at that. Not at all what he imagined based on what he knows of Norse mythology, but it's making more sense why he was chosen for this house]

It certainly is.

Besides, he's one of the few gods with a sense of humor. So, really, it's quite an honor.
