Snape Unveiled - Text

Perhaps I should have done this much sooner. I don't know what compelled me not to. The idea of 'second chance', perhaps. But it's been brought to my attention by one Harry Potter that some people might not deserve a second chance. I don't want to judge one way or the other, but information? Information I can give.

Severus Snape is the founder and headmaster of the school here in Asgard, named after a great man, Albus Dumbledore. Both of them are from my world, although I've unfortunately never had the opportunity to really get to know Albus overly well as myself. He didn't care much for the likes of me growing up.

On the other hand, I know Severus Snape fairly well, although I won't deny that he's a complex person. Two years older than me, I've rarely met anyone who'd be a match for him in creativity and cruelty. Although I'm not and never was the type to look up to anyone, if I was, it might have been to him. I've seen him kill, maim and torture. I've heard him come up with plans and ideas to effectively cause the greatest suffering to the most people. I've met many cruel men and women in my time, but never anyone who'd combine such destructive energy with such cold logic. In his defense - perhaps? - it never seemed as if he took much pleasure from killing or hurting.

What he does take pleasure in is establishing his superiority, abusing his powers - whatever they might be - to make others feel weak. I've experienced it in person both back in my world and here. I've seen him use it against others, like his victims and his students, countless times. Just recently someone we both taught at one point, Neville Longbottom, arrived here and confirmed my suspicion that he never found it necessary to reign in these urges.

This man has not only killed and tortured, but even once he'd seemingly abandoned that path, the psychological terror never stopped. I am not surprised that he'd start a school here. What better way to access young and fictile minds?

I'm aware that many might not see it fit to believe me. Mr Longbottom might perhaps be easier trusted. I'm sure he has no reason to keep anyone concerned from the truth. Others from my world might have more motive to hold on to some grudges while brushing over others. War always has many sides and each tries to shape the truth to their advantage. I've merely stated facts.

Oh, and before I forget. Draco Malfoy, whatever is it that you did or promised to do to earn a place I doubt you deserve?

[ooc: When two Death Eaters fight, all of Asgard can come in and enjoy themselves. Choose sides or just eat popcorn! Also: There will be a destructive plot involving the school this month, keep your eyes on the ooc comm for that.]

[The voice he hears that in his mind makes the question far worse than it might be on its own (tone can be difficult to tell in text, of course), so his reply takes a bit. He's got to sort his own issues with the last time he really talked about that.

There's also the fact that being bluntly asked how he feels is something he really doesn't do well with. At least it's a little more specific.

Somewhere that doesn't belong to either of us. That's what I meant. Somewhere that's not yours or mine and that's not lingering in the air like a heavy fog.

[One that might suffocate and trap if one of us gets a little too defensive. Nope, not going there.]

Maybe now that all this magic seems to have settled back into place, you can just touch me and get all the answers you want.

[This is not something he wants. Perhaps it's not something Barty thought about it before, and he's screwed the pooch by the mere suggestion. But if he could get a better look, what really worse is there to see, other than Will being innocent?

Could he access memories Will no longer has, discover how the ear got in his stomach, could he...be beneficial?

Name the time and place. I'll be there.

[No tea for Will. That tea is dirty water. He'll opt for something else. And, hopefully, not show up with a direwolf in tow.]

I think this could be beneficial to the both of us, if you're ever tempted to indulge curiosity.

[Oh yeah, Will is totally the guy to indulge morbid curiosity. Not. But...]

Now? Tomorrow? Seems you're a little busy with Professor Snape making himself look a fool.

[Hey, now, don't go telling me about what I want and don't want. You're not far enough into my head yet to get that privilege. No, no. Not yet. Not a glimmer of hope, nothing that sounded like Will was looking for a replacement Lecter (he's not). Nothing to give away that curiosity had really messed him over back home because this kind, this could be beneficial. The greater good and all that bullshit.

We shall see, and that strikes close to home, too. Not going to let that show until he has to, until he either sees or doesn't see. He really needs an eye exam and maybe a little telepathy could help, even if it's from someone...well, he could do worse.
]

Tomorrow at four, I'll be there, or contact you if something happens. You know how to get in touch with me if it changes. See you then.

[he's not going to say anything else

but god this whole psa network smearing shit isn't so bad sometimes
