[Welcome to Jon's face. It's not a particularly happy face. In fact, it looks pretty sour at the moment. He really hates having to use the bracelet, but he has a very important announcement to make.]

This is a message to the gods that have stolen us and brought us here.

[He has no actual knowledge of who the gods are or if they even care about their charges, but as they seem to have more of a hand in the affairs of others than his own gods, he'll see if a direct approach works.]

During the... incident which had your blasted magic working ill against those you gave it to, my brother wound up losing his hand. Due to your ineptitude and this unwanted sorcery, he has a stump where a perfectly fine hand was before. What sort of gods give people powers they don't ask for? It's bad enough you've brought children here, but you seem not to care about the ill effects of your war on those that are hale enough here to fight it.

[The sour look is directed more intensely at the screen now.]

I insist you fix it. I've gone to your temples and asked for this, but as it's seemed to fall on deaf ears, perhaps you need it shouted in your face.

Fix my brother or you'll have me to deal with and Asgard's gods will join him in missing body parts.

[Caw caw, motherfucker.]

Jon Snow. And you are?

Jon Snow. Eddard Stark's bastard. [Said factually, rather than with any real disdain.] I am Oberyn Martell, Prince of Dorne.

[snowcrow]

[Small tic under his eye. He tried not to take offense to it, but it was still a pain to be known as 'the bastard of Winterfell' instead of by his own merits, especially by now. But he couldn't fault a man he'd never met for not knowing more of him. That was hubris he didn't own.]

Not a king, then? I thought we were having a contest to see how many kings could arrive in Asgard.

[theredviper]

Dorne is in no contest for the throne. [Openly.] We have our own affairs and affairs to deal with the Baratheons.

[snowcrow]

There are other kings here, from other lands. Worlds. Whatever they wish to call them. I thought the gods here were starting a collection.

[theredviper]

And what good would it do to have so many kings in one place? It hardly went well in our Westeros, I should doubt it would fare any better here.

[snowcrow]

It doesn't seem to have. I believe Joffrey denies any other claims of royalty, from our land or others. When you have too many rulers in one room and none of them rule that land...

[He was sure Oberyn could figure out what he meant.]

[theredviper]

[Not much else needs to be said.]

And so the cycle continues forever more.

[snowcrow]

The best method I've found is to try to avoid it.

[Though he was fortunate Stannis was allowing him that luxury, as he had a feeling if the elder stag king wished to pester him into any one which way, he'd drive Jon mad by trying.]

And when you can't avoid the cruel reality? What then? Denial?

[snowcrow]

When you can't avoid it, you deal with it. You move on and get past it. If you can't do that, you make due. It's how we survive. We adapt.

[theredviper]

[snowcrow]

[He wasn't certain if the man was mocking him or not -- praise wasn't exactly something he was used to outside of family members, but he took it with a nod.]

And what are your beliefs?

I believe to make the most of a cruel world. There is little pleasure to be taken in this world, so find it where you will. Learn to live, Jon Snow, don't learn to only survive.
