[dragonspeak]

[After a few days of radio silence, a familiar name appears on the network again. This time, there's only text.]

King Arthur Pendragon is no longer in the city. Morgana and I will be taking over management of the Citadel in his stead. Instructors and students can continue on with their lessons without change, but we will need a few good swordsmen or swordswomen to fill in a few positions. Contact me if you would like to work here.

Medic Corps training will be at the Citadel from now on as well.

I've also been told it's foolish to take on too much at once, so there are a few other research things I require help with. If anyone wants to, I would be glad of the assistance.

You say too much, Ygritte. To strangers, no less. Is the whole world to know my business? Our business? I've already got kings and knights making mention of how easily I break my vows, kings and knights I've never met.

We can stop talking if it bothers you so much. She only spoke well of you, though.

[snowcrow]

It bothers me that those from my world are here who know more of me than I of them. And now it seems those who come from stranger worlds still are being told of... things.

[Damn, Ygritte. Keep it on the down low. Jon had a reputation. Sort of.]

That in itself is a surprise. Usually she only speaks of me to remark on how little I know.

[freewoman]

If it helps, I knew you from before. You were here once, long ago.

Strangers knowing about you is sort of...a part of Asgard's experience. Your friend meant no harm. She only wanted to tell me you were looking for a place to work.

[snowcrow]

I've no memory of being here before. If I did, I might recall how I left here and went home.

[He was familiar with people knowing something about the bastard of Winterfell, but this...? Come on, Ygritte. A man needed some boundaries.]

I am, but it seems that's not all she was planning to regale you with.

[dragonspeak]

It's more common than you think. People come and go from the city. [His voice softens toward the end of the sentence.]

She was very open about liking you.

[freewoman]

And what am I t'do? Deny you?

[snowcrow]

You could stop being quite so... open.

It seems every time I manage to hear your voice from here, it's mentioning things that we do.

[Because he was just that good.]

[freewoman]

I had no meanin' to neither. He asked if we were friends. And if I said yes, I'd be lyin'. And I won't lie about that. I vouched for you, Jon Snow. Remember that.

[voice, threadjacking party]

I'm not the one that brought it on in the first place.

[So much head shaking and regretting all of his life choices at the moment. Also conveniently ignoring the first question.]

[freewoman]

Aye, it is. He's the only one I've wanted. [She's had others. She was no maid before him, but he was hers.

There's only been you.]

Does he know? He seemed upset that you spoke of him.

He does. Pay him no mind. I don't.

[A sigh. Okay, to be serious...] There are many from his lands, dead kings and dead family. Suppose he's worried 'bout them.

[dragonspeak]

Does he know the kings? It seems odd for them to be so concerned about him if he doesn't.

[freewoman]

[She sighs.]

I don't know no Southron kings, and I don't know how much Jon told y'before, and I know very little meself. See, me and Jon are from different parts o' Westeros. Our people don't like his none, and his don't look too kindly on ours. Been that way for thousands o' years.

From what I know, Jon's from an important family, the Starks. His lot is warrin' with others in the south since they killed his father. Lots o' men claimin' t'be king. But while all this was happenin', Jon was with me an' my people. So I don't think he knows none o' them kings, save his brother Robb. But he took some stupid vows, they all means something.

One o' those kings, Baratheon, the old one-- he says he knows Jon. You know how time can be all-- different here? He says he knows Jon as the Lord Commander. Only Jon weren't one in my time and Jon said he weren't in his.

But this king? Seems t'be all upset about Jon's vows. And I'm one o' those things breakin'em.

Robb is his brother? [That's definitely surprise Ygritte is hearing from him.] I hadn't known that.

And, well. The gods bring us in from different parts of our lives sometimes. One of my friends came to the city knowing nothing about the past few years.

It's possible Jon becomes a Lord Commander later.

so I realized this after the fact... But spoilers?

Aye. Jon's Ned Stark's bastard. It's what made'im valuable to my people. That and he killed one o' his Crow brothers, someone we hated. [The Halfhand had done a lot to help the Night Watch expand into the North, into her lands.]

That's what people tell me. I wouldn't believe it if Jon himself didn't remember the Battle at Castle Black. He's from before it.

Ah. That explains a bit.

[He feels some sympathy for Jon then. Even if he hadn't known Morgana, and seen the way she reacted to being cast aside by Uther, it's no secret how difficult life usually is for those born out of royal wedlock.]

The memory thing is normal around these parts. He might remember more himself later on.
