Normally I'd do some long talk about hey, I'm so and so and this is what I have to say. I'll make this quick because I'm a bit. [He angles his bracelet to the storm spirits outside the window racing down the street. One can catch a glimpse of the specialized web of wooden plates he's putting together as fast as he can.]

Busy. We're going to have to improvise because we don't have the right metal to make weapons to take the storm spirits out. [He fits rings into place and locks more wooden plates into his contraption. It's not going to hold wind spirits for long but it's better than nothing.] There's probably a variety of ways to slow them down.

Anything conductive is not going to be the best idea. Unless you like feeling like you're in a microwave.

[He picks up the edge of his trap and shakes it.] Uh, anyway. They might look like people and you think you can reason with them. Dude, don't waste your breath and steer clear of the horse shaped ones.

But, lot of you are going to fight them so. Stick to wood and anything that won't conduct well and don't, don't let them touch you.

[Jane gapes openly on the network. After a moment, she points to the wooden contraption.]

What in the world is that supposed to be, and how does it make those things outside go away??

[Yeah, no, she's not going outside. Jane can see them perfectly well from her window.]

This? [He holds up the edge of his wood paneled net/ball device in progress and makes it ripple to show how flexible it is. The clacking noises it makes sounds like a jenga tower falling over.]

This is a partly made trap. Not going to make them go away but they're really not going to like it.

Once they figure out what I'm doing things will be fun. [He's clearly being sarcastic at the end.]

And when it's all made, it's supposed to...trap those things. You're sure it will work? I mean, no conductive metal I can understand, clearly that's an awful idea...

Hey, most of my ideas work! [But sometimes they explode.] I can explain it but, do you want the long detailed break down, or the short one?

The short one might be best. If it actually works, it'd be nice if you could trap these things sooner rather than later.

There you go with, 'if it works' again. Have a little faith in someone from the same world as these windbags. [He pats the net he's been working on as he starts to explain.] The idea is to turn their abilities against them.

Wood is heavy enough they can't blow it aside and the set up allows the net to extend one side, then when they try to force it away, the other. Instant balled up storm spirits.

Is it really so strange for someone to be concerned whether something made of wood will work against those creatures? Regardless of where the maker came from?

[She doesn't want to admit that she's still unsure as to how the trap will work, even with the simple explanation.]

You sound like you'd be a skeptic no matter what. [He adjusts the wood plates and double checks how they're linking up before working the whole thing into a round shape.]

The problem with storm spirits is they're as smart and conscious as we are. They're just out to kill everyone which isn't their usual style. The usual methods for killing them are out before this place strips special properties from anything not native to the reality.

We have to improvise. Or they'd be dust right now.

I wouldn't. I just have very thorough methods-

[There's a moment where her words get caught in her throat.] Wh - kill? Destruction I could understand but...kill, really??

Yeah, kill. To be fair, they're usually just trying to kill demigods, so this isn't that much of an expansion on their thought process.

Demigods. Right, okay.

[Just set that bit of weirdness aside for now.]

But why kill at all??

When they're directing lightning at me and trying to make me go flat as a pancake, I never thought to ask that question. [Surviving has always been way more important.] But they don't really need a reason to take out one of us.

We exist, they don't like us. Instant reason for every monster to take us out.

Well that's just ridiculous on their part.

[Leo snorts as if he just heard the best joke he's ever heard.] Not so much if you look at our parents. But that's not important, what's important is right now they're out for everyone.

Dropping people from above like seagulls with clams is not beneath them and very doable. You might get taunted before you die which makes for a very bad experience. It's not awesome.

[She pales somewhat as she imagines that. Nope, doesn't sound like a fun experience.]

We can't just - stay inside and steer clear of them until they pass?

Yeah, you can do that. [He'll be out in the storm with his hammer and tools making sure that natives and Travelers alike aren't without some demigod help. Man he misses his fire.]

T-Then I think I will. [Stay clear of killer things AND the wooden thing? Good plan.]

See you when it all blows over. [Bad word choice, he winces.] I mean, when it's over.
