video; eight full moons
[ Scott probably should have checked the network before appearing on it so he’d know why he's in the situation he is right now, but he’s somewhat disorientated from waking up handcuffed to his freaking bed, so the first thing he does is make a video broadcast asking for answers instead. The fact that they’re comfy, padded handcuffs is more confusing, but all his clothes are on so this can't be sex-related (he can think of two people he wouldn't mind it being a sex thing with but they're nowhere to be seen plus he can't remember how he got here). Little does Scott know, he lost his bracelet and was grey for a while, but Stiles managed to finally find the damn necessary jewellery to survival here, putting it on Scott while his grey self was sleeping.
But Scott’s back to his old self now and the most confused he's ever been. ]
Can someone explain to me why I’m cuffed to a bed right now?
[ Scott looks around the room - which he recognizes as his room, and it’s pink. Thanks for redecorating while he was grey, Rue. ]
In my pink room? [ Scott looks down at the two creatures watching him at the bottom of his bed. ] Guarded by a wolf cub and baby dragon?
[ When the dragon gets closer, Scott sees it’s holding keys in its mouth. What look a lot like handcuff keys. Yes. Scott beckons the dragon over to him. ]
Here - come here, boy! Come closer, come on… [ Except the dragon doesn’t. It tosses the keys into the air and the wolf cub catches it in her mouth. And then there’s an audible swallow. Goodbye, keys. Scott just… stares, and then thumps his head back against the wall behind him with a groan. ]
This can’t be happening.
[ To make matters worse, the wolf cub and the dragon jump on him for cuddles. ]
No way. I’m not cuddling you guys.
[ Except he totally is. He’s Scott McCall, unable to resist cute animals wanting to cuddle him. ]
You both suck. [ The video ends on Scott's sulky, pouty face. ]

Hey. [Stop being so cute, gosh.]
I'm right next door. I'll come get you out.
Did you miss the part where the keys got eaten? Unless you've got a spare set, I don't think I'm getting out of here soon. I need someone's super strength... not that you aren't a strong, tough guy. [ He adds with a smile, referring back to a previous conversation of theirs. ]
Allison said she'd come over but you can keep me company until she gets here?
I'm glad that you remember I'm tough, or else I might take offense to the idea that I can't help you.
[But he's still trying hard not to laugh.]
I'll be there in two minutes.
The spare key for the front door should still be under the doormat so you can let yourself in... I'll be here. Waiting. [ Under the snugglepile the wolf cub and dragon have formed on top of his chest. ]
[Video] -> [Action]
[And Isaac is strolling into the apartment a few minutes later, hands in his pockets as he opens the door and just leans in the doorway, staring at the view in front of him.]
You know, I'm almost tempted not to help you anyway.
[Action]
So you're just gonna stand there. Looking. [ Like that. Scott gulps. ]
[Action]
[Or at least, he would be if there wasn't a dragon and wolf currently cuddled into him. That sort of takes out a little of the appeal.]
[Action]
He throws a pillow at Isaac from across the room. ] Get over here. [ And that's not provocative at all, Scott beckoning him over while cuffed to a bed. Except there are animals on him. The animals make it less sexy. ]
[Action]
[Isaac dodges the pillow and laughs before moving closer, nudging Hale aside so that he can sit on the edge of the bed near Scott's shoulder. He pointedly doesn't look at the other boy or really think about their situations, instead just leaning over him to fiddle with the cuffs.]
The idea is, is that if I could just force a malleable shadow inside the lock, it'll take the shape of the key. But... controlling the consistency is pretty difficult.
[Action]
Wait. [ With the hand that isn't cuffed, Scott grasps at Isaac's wrist to stop him before he does anything. His touch is gentle, thumb pressed against the inside of Isaac's wrist. He tries to ignore just how soft the skin is there. ]
Allison said she'd come over to keep me company until we figured out how to get me out. Like, she actually wants to see me. [ And Scott's obviously happy about that, Allison wanting to spend time with him rather than avoid him. ] If she gets here and sees I'm not cuffed anymore she won't have a reason to be here and leave...
I know it sounds pathetic, I just... miss her.
[Action]
He misses her. Genuinely, still. Isaac feels guilty for feeling hurt by that, but he knows what the right thing to do here is, and it's not going to be just sitting around and continuing to try and force his way into a relationship that has enough problems already.]
Yeah, sure.
[The shadows fall back to their rightful places and Isaac stands up a little too quickly, jerking his hand away from Scott's.]
Good luck with that.
[Action]
He wants to ask Isaac if he can come back later to help him out, but that just sounds rude, like he's just using Isaac for a favor. He should find someone else to help him.
He bows his head somewhat shamefully. ] Sorry I... I didn't mean to waste your time by making you come here. [ But he'd wanted to see Isaac, even if it's starting to hurt, not being with Isaac the way he wants, as much as it hurts him not being with Allison. ] I appreciate you coming to my rescue, though. [ Even if he wants to stay the damsel in distress because of Allison. ]
[Action]
[Isaac just sort of gives a halfhearted shrug at the apology, looking down toward the carpet for a moment before shrugging and turning to leave. It's awkward. He doesn't really know what to say in response to that- everything he can think of just sounds harsh and bitter, so he just shakes his head and excuses himself.]
Don't worry, I'll be gone before she gets here.
[One hand on the door and the other in his pocket, and Isaac just smiles a little self deprecatingly, pulling out the spare key to leave where he'd found it. If Scott doesn't want him around, then he's certainly not going to stay.]
[Action]
He could let Isaac go without say anything, but he doesn't want to enter another awkward cycle with him. Erica told him he needs to talk to Isaac more. ]
I wish you wouldn't run away. [ It's an accusation Isaac might not like but it feels a lot like Isaac is running away from whatever issues he has right now. ] It's not fair when I can't follow you.
[Action]
You don't want to follow me. [He said as much, didn't he? Allison is coming over. Isaac gets it- and not even in a bitter, sarcastic way, he gets the desperation of wanting to hold onto something so badly that you can't think about anything else. He knows how Scott feels about her- how she feels about Scott.
He knows how he feels about them both. It just makes everything more complicated.]
You want to wait for Allison, and that's fine. If I'm here when she shows up, things are going to be awkward. You know that.
[Action]
[ It's an answer that sounds a lot like Scott wants romantically. But it can't work like that, can it? It can't just be him and Isaac right now because the idea hurts Allison, it's why Isaac made a promise to her that he wouldn't.
But Isaac is right, it would be awkward if he was here when Allison shows up. He can almost picture her face, getting the wrong idea, or her walking in on them flirting... ]
I wish it wasn't awkward... I wish we could go back to the night of the masquerade. [ But wishes are for children. ]
[Action]
Still, Scott isn't speaking into the void, and Isaac nods when he mentions the masquerade. It was awkward as all hell, but he remembers being happy, more than anything else. Scott wants them both, even if he wants Allison more. That's comforting, actually. And Allison... well, her feelings are sort of beyond Isaac's understanding right now.]
Scott... [Isaac wants to tell him everything. The almost-kiss, the guilt, the long talks with Allison, protecting Stiles for them- but he doesn't know where he'd even start.] ...things are complicated. None of us really know what to feel right now, and- and I don't know.
[He leans up against the door, pressing his head back against the wood.] I should have just stayed out of it. I made everything worse.
[Action]
Or maybe Isaac and Allison should be together without him. That's the third option, the direction they seemed to be headed back home, what he'll start to think might be best when he learns about Isaac and Allison's date. He just wants them both to be happy, even if that means removing himself from whatever awkward triangle they've gotten into to make things easier. ]
Even if you'd stayed out of it, I wouldn't been able to stay away from you... Things aren't ideal right now but that night you made everything better, not worse.
[Action]
His hand is still on the doorknob- he could still leave. He just doesn't want to, not when Scott is cuffed to the bed and they're finally talking.]
Maybe... maybe if Allison ever comes around- [he doesn't even want to think about it, doesn't know if Scott will be pissed at him for even suggesting it, but it's either this or nothing.] -maybe we can be like it was at the party. The three of us, I mean.
[He swallows hard, fingers tightening.] Sam and Sophie, they both said that it's okay. We're not gonna be like, crazy cultists with ten wives or anything, but- I mean, the three of us? [Isaac tentatively lifts his eyes, as if scared that he's going to find Scott glaring at him.]
It could work... right?
[Action]
I can't believe we're actually talking about this... [ Not because he doesn't want it, but because he didn't think they'd ever be talking about it as though it's a possibility that could become a reality. ] But yeah, I'd want it to work.
I think - it's like... we're a sandwich? There's three parts to it, two slices of bread and a filling. You take away one part and it's not complete. You have to have all the parts to make it the best sandwich ever. A sandwich you can really enjoy.
[ Wow, this analogy right now... You sure you want a relationship with this kid, Isaac? ]
[Action]
A sandwich.
[The past few months of worry and desire and guilt and attraction and tentative steps forward for this. A sandwich.
There's a pause, and he opens the door.]
...I should go, alright? Leave you to find the other part of your sandwich, McCall.
[Even if he can't help the little smirk at the corner of his lips as he says it.]
[Action]
Still, Scott won't let him have the last word, watching Isaac's back as he opens the door. ]
Hey... we're okay, right? [ He's still thinking about Isaac's reaction to wanting to stay handcuffed because of Allison coming to see him, unsure what to make of that. ] Because I like it a lot more when you're flirting with me than when you're mad at me.
[Action]
[Isaac shrugs with a halfhearted smile- it's difficult not to be at least somewhat amused when he's talking to a guy who's handcuffed to a bed in the middle of a pink room.]
I'll see you.
[And he's gone.]
