[Turlough looks...well, slightly fidgety.]
I know this might be a stupid question. But what all do you give someone on Valentine's Day-either on your world or on Asgard? Dates are out of the question because of her...job, but I'd like to give her something anyway. I've had girlfriends before, but that was ages ago and we didn't really do Valentine's Day like you lot do it. [because whooo aliens!] And when I was on Earth, most of the time was spent in an English public school-not of my own choosing, mind you. [by the little scrunched up expression on his face, it's pretty obvious what Turlough thinks of English public school (it sucks.)]
So while I'm no stranger to the subject of love, I...sort of am to gifts. [it took him a lot of strength to admit that and now he's frowning a bit.] Any help would be appreciated.

[ But really, though. ]
You did think of it on your own, though. I said nothing.

[Insecurity, thy name is Annie Sawyer.
Time to derail!]
So, Turlough calls you "the Doctor". Is that really all you're called?
no subject
Yes.
Well, only there's more than one Doctor here, so I also go by Eleven. Or Bowtie-san. Or "the one with the bow tie", only there's two of us with a bow tie now so that might be confusing. The one with the tweed and bow tie! Or the one with the chin and floppy hair. Lots of options.
no subject
...I think I'll just use "the Doctor", unless someone asks me which one.
Why are you called that, though?
no subject
[ He shrugs. ]
Why not?

[Annie's eyebrows rise.]
Oh come on. There has to be some reason, or else you'd be called...Tim, or Shaun, or something.
no subject
It makes me feel clever to have people call me the Doctor.

[Don't laugh at him, don't laugh at him...]
No, you're kidding, right?
no subject
[ He sees you're holding it back. ]
no subject
[Okay, she totally is, inside.]
It's just... really? It makes you feel clever? Don't you know if you're clever or not?

[ He reaches into his inner pocket, and puts on his reading glasses. ]
There! Double whammy.
no subject
That's brilliant. I guess that makes you doubly clever, doesn't it?
[Okay, that's it. He's a keeper. Tea and mothering for Eleven forever.]

[ As Five. Makes him look smart, yep. ]
