failassassin: (oh that's how to cripple the TARDIS?)

video;

[Turlough looks...well, slightly fidgety.]

I know this might be a stupid question. But what all do you give someone on Valentine's Day-either on your world or on Asgard? Dates are out of the question because of her...job, but I'd like to give her something anyway. I've had girlfriends before, but that was ages ago and we didn't really do Valentine's Day like you lot do it. [because whooo aliens!] And when I was on Earth, most of the time was spent in an English public school-not of my own choosing, mind you. [by the little scrunched up expression on his face, it's pretty obvious what Turlough thinks of English public school (it sucks.)]

So while I'm no stranger to the subject of love, I...sort of am to gifts. [it took him a lot of strength to admit that and now he's frowning a bit.] Any help would be appreciated.

Do humans still have the predilection towards unhealthy and sickeningly sweet confections? They're little brown things. Ugly, sinful creations. There was a box of them on top of my recuperation chamber for some infernal reason today.

Disgusting things. However, I am told they are popular. Perhaps you can offer her a box of those things? That might suffice for your species. But would that convey your intention to mate with her?

Naturally, I am not speaking or suggesting that you wish to pale with her this very instant, but regardless you wish it to be clear that this is the interest and not some platonic fraternization, yes?
alternia_strength: (Hmmm)

Sorry... my pronunciation was a little off. Pail, not Pale. And it is the act of mating for my species, so yes it is... applicable I suppose?
alternia_strength: (Ummm?)

And I do not intend to give them. But wait, you have no wish to mate with her, and yet you wish to be romantically involved? So, then, you are interested in a platonic relationship?

It is similar, but there is a biological imperative and assumed that we must produce genetic material at some point. A difficult to avoid reality of our world in that we have certain duties to perform.

You... have a point.

Equius Zahhak. ... ... ... It is a pleasure. [The latter phrase sounds like he's chewing the words out. It's nothing personal, Turlough. He has the social graces of a rock.]

It is worth considering at least, Turlough-human. Perhaps we will speak next time of less... tawdry topics.

Ah, I see. Turlough-trion in that case. What is the difference, if you don't mind me asking?
alternia_strength: (Hmmm)

If you're making the specification, that much is obvious. No, this is more a biological question. Are you distinct or largely similar?

Very well. That, at least, explains what I require, Turlough-Trion. I am at least pleased that you understand no insult is meant in using your species as an indicator.

I am more accustomed to speaking to various species in that fashion. Humans can be quite touchy about it, however.
