I find it all incredibly strange.

How so much can change, and yet, there is still such familiarity in it all.

[Fandral straightens and composes himself, and the smile returns.]

I find myself lacking in company tonight, friends. [His companions have been uncharacteristically quiet, though however unsettling that is--and it worries him greatly--he does not say.] And I find it would be remiss of me not to offer my own instead. Would anyone care to do me the honor of sharing drinks this evening?

Aye, it is a bit funny that way, isn't it?

[Especially here, where things had proved to be so different in so many ways. There were still other things - other people - who were the same. And while Jamie actually didn't mind that, he thought he could maybe see the other man's point. Or points, as the case may be.]

It is. Though not unwelcome.

[It won't ever feel quite like home. There is, of course, still that uncanny valley he'll never be able to fully cross. But it is starting to feel like a home; a realm that needs and deserves its own place in his heart, and moreover, his oath to serve the Nine. (Or is that now Ten?)

He gives a small shrug.]

I've not the slightest idea, to be perfectly honest. I heard tell of an establishment in the Loki district, I suppose it prudent to start there. The rest, I suppose, will be an adventure.

[Which is true, as far as he's concerned. Especially when it's a case of not knowing where you are or what's going to happen next. And while Asgard isn't quite the same, there's still enough of the unexpected that there's a bit of an adventure here as well.]

If ye happen to get around to Thor's district there's a place I know of ye could go, called the Roadhouse. Suppose I could stop by for a bit and let ye know how to get there. That is, if ye were serious about having a wee bit of company.

Worlds are prone to doing that. Evolving, growing and eventually, falling again. They are always changing in some fashion, it's just a matter of keeping up with it. What is familiar now was once strange.

In the way an imitation can make one nostalgic. Less of a true memory, and more a simple reminder of what once-was. [Or had better still be, but he doesn't truly want to think about the possibility that he should have to even note that aloud.]

The invitation certainly extends to such beautiful company.
