I find it all incredibly strange.

[His glance at the recording is serious and almost maudlin, but he manages a quiet laugh despite this.]

How so much can change, and yet, there is still such familiarity in it all.

[Fandral straightens and composes himself, and the smile returns.]

I find myself lacking in company tonight, friends. [His companions have been uncharacteristically quiet, though however unsettling that is--and it worries him greatly--he does not say.] And I find it would be remiss of me not to offer my own instead. Would anyone care to do me the honor of sharing drinks this evening?

[Because, priorities.]

[Heck yeah. Drinkin' with Thor's bro. It's almost as good as drinking with Thor. And probably will result in a just as awful hangover.]

Dude, I was the king of maudlin a few weeks ago. I know the symptoms.

[A shrug.]

[He was content in living in the delusion, Tony, thank you. But then again, that's the whole point of the excursion in the first place.]

Fandral. The Dashing, on better days, but I suppose we're all in want of them from time to time.

[The smile, at least, is a good attempt at a front. After all, he only feels a little disconnected, and he has a sinking feeling it's only bound to get worse as this "war" wears on. Might as well take advantage of the distraction while it lasts.]

I'm afraid my knowledge of the city is still somewhat limited. I know of an establishment in Loki's district [and the irony does not escape him], but if you would like to suggest an alternative...

[AKA: He's about as married to the idea as he's bound to be in an official capacity. Not at all.]

Tony Stark, Iron Man back home, but here I'm just the mechanic.

[Tony hums in thought before he shrugs.]

There's a bar here in Baldr that serves a decent Asgardian version of a mojito. And it's not under Loki's careful watch.

Perhaps then, that is for the best, if what I've heard of the Man of Iron is true.

[He laughs, because really this all is a wonderful coincidence he hadn't expected, and is more than welcome. Unfamiliar as this meeting is, it follows the 'logic' of home. (And the idea of Loki getting tossed around down on Midgard is, in its own special way, pretty damned funny.)]

[He tilted his head curiously. He had gotten used to having to explain himself here, so this was a pleasant surprise..]

How could I not? [Thor leaving in the middle of an Asgardian crisis to offset a worse one is not the kind of thing that goes unnoticed. That, and of course, he's no stranger to placating ego, his own or otherwise.]

[Oh, Tony liked this guy.]

Well then, it'd be my privilege to grant what I'm sure has been a long time dream of yours and pay for the first round.
