[The world fell back into focus rather suddenly and River finds herself dropping to her knees with the feeling of the world overwhelming her.

She takes a few sharp breaths, and her hands are shaking a little as she fiddles around with the bracelet, trying to get it to turn on again.]

The world went out of focus. [She sounds apologetic and a little scared.] Blurry and cold. Everything fit right but the world was wrong. Found a place in a different puzzle, the one next to this one.

[Her hands are shaking little and she looks around her, uncertain of what to do now. Of what she's missed and how to slip back into the new old world she's found herself in again.]

[Loki cocks his head, frowning a little while he looks at the screen.]

Are you well?

[She considers the question for a moment before answering, mentally taking stock of how she is. The world is harsh against her mind, sensation bombarding her and leaving her dizzy but beyond that, she's fine.]

Passable. She's not broken yet.

Why do you refer to yourself in third person?

[He frowns.]

Are you possessed?

[There is a joke about Ghostbusters on the tip of his tongue, waiting to come out...]

Easier that way. When the world starts caving in, it's easier for her to be far away.

[She shakes her head.] No, not today.

[Well that was a hell of a riddle to work out.]

Was that meant to make sense or are you just monologuing aloud publicly for no reason? Either way, I would consult a doctor.

[She nods, settling in on the middle of the street, not caring if shes in the way or not.

She didn't ha the capacity to miss people when she was gone, didn't think to worry about how they would feel when she arrived back but now, now she feels it, knows the worry and the fear that had to have come, all by the few words the TARDIS spoke to her.]

[She doesn't even bother asking where River is - she'll find River. Five minutes pass before the TARDIS steps up to the girl, kneeling down in front of her. Not touching but close enough to be touched.]

Hi. I'm glad you came back.

[Hr body curls in on itself, arms wrapping around her knees as she watches the screen. The world is too loud, to grating against her mind and her skin. She takes in a deep breath, nodding at the sound of her name.

Clawing and crying until it opens up and lets you out. She's out, she's free but maybe she shouldn't be. Maybe she should have stayed fading.

[Give her time, she'll be back to normal soon, it's just hard to come back to a colorful and vivid world when you've been grey for so long.]

[ She winces at that, struggling for a moment in her attempt to figure out how to respond to that. ]

No. Nooo, you shouldn't have stayed fading. You're much better when you're you, I promise. Can you talk to me when you're feeling a little better?

[Inara's already on her feet, pulling one of her shawls firmly around her shoulders.]

Darling, where are you?

In Loki. Hiding. She can be found though, she wants to be.

[She smiles and it's obviously overwhelmed and tired but she's trying.]

Good, because I'd like to find you too.

[She flashes River a reassuring smile as she sweeps out of her room, hurrying down the hall and then out of her own house.]

I'll try not to take too long. Though perhaps when I get to Loki, you can come out of hiding so it's a little easier to find you.

[She shakes her head.] Didn't know. She thought he would see what happened and she got lost, faded into the background and lost her way.

[She blinks, looking at the screen for a moment then shaking her head.] No. Not a song, just words jumbled together and trying to make sense.

Sometimes the most popular songs don't make any sense.

[Her eyes go wide for a moment, catching the woman's expression and her face. Then she nods, breathing hard for a moment.] She's alive. It's the best she can offer. The world went sideways for a while but it seems to be back now.

[Is she speaking in third person? Gaia is kinda confused.]

She? You mean you? Or one of your friends? Is there anything I can do to help?
