♣ 4 ♣ video;
[Loras turns on his bracelet, looking at the screen; he looks exhausted, to be sure. There are a few scratches on his face, and a bruise slowly starting to bloom along his jaw.
There are troubling things that Loras wishes to speak on, and while he initially debated speaking to the network at large...
...sometimes something must be said.]
It seems that I have been wandering in my sleep. I have never...I have never experienced this before. And that I seem to be wandering far afield--and finding that there are a great many things in the vicinity are dangerous to those who walk when not awake.
This may be a strange request to ask of someone, but I think I may be in need of a watcher.
[It is not easy for him to ask such a thing; but he would rather have someone watch him, than become horribly injured, or killed, because of this thing that is plaguing him.
But another thing that troubles his thoughts, he might as well address now, as well.]
...also, I have to ask.
If you have seen a glimpse of something--something that awaits you, when you return. A vision of an event that may be your end.
...what do you do, with that knowledge? When here, you can not change it?
[The apple gave Loras the glimpse of something horrific--and it reminded him of what his sister said, when he first arrived here.
Meaning that it most likely was true. And that a fate worse than death might be coming towards him, without a way to stop it.]

[It is a private matter; he would tell Leonardo, but privately.]
...are you well?
[They are both suffering the same, it seemed.]
[From Loras's post it seemed that was finally the direction he had decided to take. ]
I even managed a little sleep. It was not restful, but it was something.
[The conversation was continued even as Leonardo grabbed a few essentials and made his way out the door... AFTER leaving a note for the friend he was staying with that this disappearance was not an episode of sleepwalking.]
video - action
[Loras will be found sitting on his bed, hands clasped together, knuckles white. His door is open, eyes gazing on the painting of Margaery, Renly, and himself.]
action
Salve.
[The greeting was lightly said as he stepped into the room and over to the bed where the image might be seen for himself.]
This is a image of happier times?
action
Just after Renly married my sister. We thought--
--we thought that everything would be fine, after that.
[But they were fools.]
action
Wait, married his sister?
Loras received a curious look when that little surprise came up.]
Did you get this from one of the apples?
action
I did, yes.
action
Then something good did come from the apples. I am glad you were able to gain something so precious.
action
I am happy as well.
I should not have had the second apple.
action
[Not Loras too? Leonardo had hoped he might have been spared for those, but a bad apple would explain the depressed atmosphere of the room... ]
Did it show you a vision of the future too?
action
[Loras frowned, looking at his hands for a moment.]
I was leading a charge, of some sort--there were battlements. Oil was poured--and there was pain--
[He pressed his lips together.]
That was it.
action
But, what to say about it... He raised an arm, hesitated, then set it down on Loras's shoulder giving him a comforting one-armed hug. ]
It does not mean anything. It is like you said, it might not even be a true vision of things to come.
action
...my sister, when she was here, was fixated on my face. She had said..
...I believe it is true.
action
You must not have died.
[He nearly whispered the words so glad he was to hear them.
Loras had been injured, his face maybe scarred in some way but he had not died! OH he could nearly breath! Had his heart begun to beat again? It was still terrible to hear Loras had been hurt at all but at least... at least he lived! ]
I wish it had not been shown to you. It would have been better, but if it is not the end... There is still hope.
action
...but with the damage that it must have done...
[Perhaps he should have. He shook his head.]
What am I, if I can not protect those I love? That sort of damage--it cripples men.
action
He had seen those who had come back from war. They were often twisted and misshapen, unable to work they usually became beggars...
Quietly he rested his cheek on Loras's head. How could he comfort or even protect him from the future? ]
You did not see the result?
[Could it have been only a minor injury? They might be worrying over something that could be recovered from. he hoped, truly at this moment wished for nothing more.
But in case it did turn out to be more serious...]
It might be that you would end up unable to protect people as you have become used to, but you could still do so in other ways. You would just have learn to use your other talents to help them.
action
What am I, but my skill as a knight? How could I protect anyone, otherwise?
action
[If that look was any indication, Loras would need more convincing. ]
Have you ever observed any who by accident or age lose a sense? When this happens the other senses become stronger. A man who ends up blind gains exceptional hearing, a deaf man can learn to read lips to compensate for a lack of hearing. People have a remarkable ability to adapt. It would be the same for you.
[Unless he chose to give up and do nothing... But, hopefully he wouldn't. He seemed like too much of a fighter.]
You might not be able to fight but you could offer advice, warn of trouble, inspire others... or who can say, maybe it will be as simple an injury as only requiring you to learn a different way of holding a weapon. You could take up the pistola instead of the lance.
[(Pistol)]
I know you will find a way.
[OOC: Forgive the slow, rough week. ^^" ]
take your time <3
Inspire others? Become a knight, and you too might be maimed? And we don't have pistols.
[Loras runs a hand through his hair, frustrated, before finally deciding to press his forehead into Leonardo's shoulder, just needing the comfort, to try and push back the memories for a short while.]
I don't want to think on it.
THANK YOU! <3 <3 <3
He remembered, not very long ago at all, when he had been in a similiar state over a vision of the future. He had wanted people to tell him it was not true, it could not happen. Lies of course.
The Doctor had made it clear that what he saw definitely would happen...
It was a terrible thing to know the future.]
If it is too difficult we could speak on some thing else?
[As Loras settled in closer his arms moved to wrap around him, trying to offer the comfort words failed at.]
no subject
Speak on anything. Just don't leave.
no subject
[Why was it he could ramble on at length on nearly any subject but when it came to moments like this words always seemed to fail? He moved a hand to Loras's shoulder, rubbing it in the way one might to soothe an upset child while he racked his mind for something, anything, that might be a distraction. ]
I... I started a new painting. I could not sleep anyway so, I began work on a Madonna. They were always popular paintings at home. In this one I think I will include a cat the bambino could be playing with. Do you have a fondness for cats?
[Not the best subject perhaps... but it was an attempt.]
no subject
Forgive me, I don't know what a Madonna is.
[The mention of cats, though, gets a ghost of a smile.]
Aye, I do. I've always enjoyed them.
