[Alice is beaming proudly as she looks at the bracelet. The more observant will notice a slight scratch on her cheek and nose. Nonetheless, she looks very pleased with herself.]

It took me all day but I did it! I did it I did it! [She's bouncing.]

I made myself a pet! Oh but not any sort of pet! No no, I made Marigold!

Would you all like to meet him? I thought it would be a much nicer topic than the gloomy sorts people have been commenting on. [Because dead people? No, thank you. She has had enough of all of that.]

[ Instantly fascinated. Giles leans immediately forward, adjusting his glasses. ]

Good lord-- yes, he's very handsome. What a fascinating creature. He's some sort of dragon?

Not some sort, he is. He's a fire breathing dragon.

[ Giles, of course, is mentally running through the supposed types and differing mythologies. ] I see. Is he based on something from your home, or did you, ah, invent him?

[ He is hereby chalking up Freyr's power as - paraphrasing, here - immensely cool. ]

Well, somewhat. I've never met a dragon back home but we have them in all sorts of stories and legends and they're all around the world! My Marigold can fly and breathe fire!

Ah. It's the same in mine. [ He smiles, now. ] He's quite remarkable.

Where are you from, sir? And thank you! I used my very best paints and have been working on this drawing for some time! He's my sweet one of a kind, Marigold. [She nuzzles her dragon like one might butt heads with a cat.]

Well, I've wound up in a great many places, but it would be simplest to say London, in England. I assume our worlds will be rather similar -- most seem to be.

He certainly is. My name is Giles -- it's very nice to meet you, and him.

OH! I'm from Oxford England! Always splendid to meet someone from home, whatever the version of it!

How do you do, Mr. Giles! My name is Alice Liddell, you've already been introduced to Marigold.

Ah, lovely. [ He actually looks very pleased! ] I've spent a great deal of time in Oxford. It's a wonderful place.

Have you been in Asgard a very long time, miss Liddell? [ She's so cute. And unexpectedly skilled at drawing things into existence. ]

Isn't it just! So pretty and all sorts of green hills and- [She stops, suddenly feeling homesick. She swallows and took a deep breath.] A-Ah yes, it is a lovely place.

Oh no, not very long, sir. I don't think. Since very late winter. It's a little hard to tell with no months being the same. I've been through two seasons, at the very least!
