No. No. NO!

[The video is an absolute blur, but there is definitely destruction happening. The tinkle of broken glass, loud thumps and cracks that sound a lot like furniture being hit with blunt objects - anything you'd associate with a house being utterly totalled from the inside can be heard through the maelstrom.

Then it stills, and one red-faced, absolutely apoplectic Pyro is visible in the middle of his path of destruction.]

You assholes. You stupid fucking assholes. If you were so almighty, we wouldn't be any threat to you, would we? So why the hell take them away? Curse me. Make me think I'm Stryker, I don't care. Just bring them back, and do it now.

[It doesn't matter how many times he's told others that people come back. That's it's random. That they're better off. This is his fucking leader and second-in-command, two of the mutants he admires above all others, and they're both gone. If someone doesn't talk him down soon, he'll be paying off the damages on a burnt-down paid residence for the rest of his time in Asgard.]

You never got to meet him. [Quietly; then, with an edge:] You're about the only one left who really gets why we can't let go of what we are. Why we can't let the gods get away with it.

[He says it, but it seems to register a second later, and he turns to look at her in a whole new way.

She really is the last one here, that he knows of, who shares that stance. Certainly the only one who's encouraged him as Magneto did. Sure, she's not a mutant, but she's not human either. She gets in his way sometimes, calls him irresponsible and reckless, but it's never with that lofty air of disdain that most people at Xavier's had; besides, he jumped in front of a knife for her, so he's doubted her abilities too.

People are going to leave. That's a given here. But it's not the same kind of given anymore, and now it's starting to cause the opposite reaction. He suddenly wants more time, and to make as much of it as possible. The things he, Magneto and Mystique could've done if they'd only acted faster...]

Euri. [It's not a proper question, but his tone lifts just enough at the end to get her attention.]

[She does understand him, very well, and it really doesn't help how complicated this whole situation is what with their worlds possibly being at risk. So she just shuffles her feet a bit.] I wish I had gotten to meet him....

[When his tone changes she's glancing over at him curiously. It's unusual for him to... well, not sound so angry after what happened. There's no way he'd get over it fast, if at all.] Hm?

[God, this is hard. It feels like about ten different sides are at war in his head, and he'd always thought a war with three sides was complicated.

But the evidence is there. It's plain as day. And no matter how much he thinks about something, in the end, he always does what he wants. Even if it's shifted so slowly, and then so suddenly, that he can barely believe he wants it.]

I made up my mind.

You wh - [Her mind is still on Magneto and Mystique leaving that it takes her a moment to catch up with what he means. She blinks at him, and it clicks, and then it's like a giant truck of flustered has just barreled into her.]

- Really?? You did??

[No, Euri, that makes it worse.]

Just shut up and listen.

[And then he realizes he has no great speech. He can't explain any of what he's been thinking. He barely knows how to say it, considering he's never done it before, and will you be my girlfriend just sounds too damn Junior High.]

I'm ready if you are.

[His coolest, most offhand delivery, his expression casual bordering on amused. If he were a better actor, it might even have worked.]

Ah... ah.... [It's much better than Euri's fairing, her brain seems to be stuck on pause. He's actually saying yes, that isn't something she ever really expected, when you got down to it.

But here he is, and here she is stumbling over her words like some kind of stuttering idiot.]

O - okay! Okay okay okay!

[Yeah that... isn't the least bit smooth, but that's what's coming out.]

[He actually laughs a bit at that, shaking his head.]

Euri, calm down. It's not like there's a ring or anything.

[But the laughter fades, and he looks more sober after a moment.]

I don't have time to sit around and think about stuff forever. You could be gone tomorrow. [And he really looks like that'd be the last straw - like it would hurt him more deeply than he'd ever admit aloud.] You've got my back. I've got yours. Good enough for me.

Mhmm, mhmm! [She can't help the giddiness, and she tries to calm down as she nods along but the next thing she knows she's throwing her arms around him in a tight hug.]

I will always always always have your back as long as we're together!

[He lets out a muffled grunt at the sudden tacklehug, but returns it with another small laugh that doesn't last much longer. Eventually he has to pull away, pushing her back by the shoulders to look her in the eye.]

I've never done this before. [He's saying a lot of things with that, most of which his arrogance won't allow him to admit aloud - he could fuck up bigtime, for example, and he wouldn't take being left behind well at all.]

[She'll let go without any fuss, a little amazed she even got away with that hug.]

I haven't either! I mean - dated a mutant. Or... someone who isn't a Witch. [Well... she's finishing sheepishly.] Dated a guy. Um - this probably isn't going to be like anything back home, huh?

Yeah, probably not. [He looks a bit amused at that, and his grin turns wicked.] But if you wanna talk about dating the witches, y'know, the really personal stuff, I bet that'd help.

Well....

[She is taking that entirely the wrong way.]

Normally it involves being pretty vicious to other Witches.

You all like it rough, huh?

[Just waiting to see when she'll get it now that she's misunderstood.]

It's a lot more complic -

- You're not taking this seriously! Don't be so perverted! [She's shrieking that as she aims a punch at his arm.]

[He dodges the punch, laughing again.]

It's two chicks, what do you expect? If they're as hot as you, yeah, that's what I wanna hear about.

[His laughter dims down to a fond smile before he's even aware of it. He'd been about to wring the first neck he saw, and now he's laughing. Maybe this is the right choice after all.]

[Oh god, he's got her blushing and sputtering and she's going to end up just shaking her head.]

No, no way. We're not talking about any of that!

So no threesomes, then?

[Okay, he's done. Because that kind of reminds him...]

Looks like I'm homeless again. I'm not going back to that shitty boarding house, and I could barely keep up with a third of the rent here. [He glances back at the house he just trashed, then outward toward the street.] It'll work for awhile. Just keep switching districts and no one'll catch me.

[She relaxes a little at the subject change, and shakes her head at his solution. It's a terrible one, and there's no way she's going to let him do it.]

Come on, you're not going to do that. If you don't want to go back to the welcome house you can stay in the mushroom. It's only me and Vanitas so there's plenty of room.

Living together already? That's moving pretty quick.

[Yes, his tone is light, but he actually looks a bit stunned. Technically, it's less than she's done for him before, but he's mocked that mushroom from his first day here. And now she's offering him a room?]

How much do you want for it? The room and board.

[She just smiles at him. Despite the extra animals there's plenty of extra room, and she wouldn't mind the added company. Vanitas could use it too, even though he'd never admit it.]

Do you even have a job right now? [She chuckles.] Come on, just worry about moving your stuff before any of that.

Yeah. [He looks affronted at that, even though his job sucks so bad.] But you're serious, aren't you? You want me to move in.

[It's just a place to stay. It's not moving in moving in. And his only other option is the street. But man, without rent involved, did his feet ever get cold just now.]

Of course I'm serious! [She prods his shoulder, lightly.] What kind of girlfriend would I be if I let my boyfriend be homeless? That would be so rude! We'd have to break up immediately!

[He relaxes a bit at that. Just keeping him off the streets, that's all. It's hard to say, with a girl this bent on commitment.]

Yeah, alright. [A hint of his grin returns.] If I'm doing this, I'm doing it right. Not losing my girlfriend in fifteen minutes.
