I've been on my own for years, basically off the grid and out of sight of most governments. More a street rat than a military sort, if you know the term.

Mostly attachments, not duties, with them, but that's the idea. And yeah, survival instincts have a way of coming in handy. Less formal training, but I never relied on fighting skill as much as my brains and the old ways.
