[ Greetings, Asgard! Have a pretty blonde with a cheeky grin. ] Well, this is an interesting turn of events. Apparently despite my initial status as "not supposed to be here" [ she drops her voice a little for that, and tosses in a couple of air quotes for good measure ] I've become a somewhat more permanent resident! It's all a bit silly, this gods-and-magic business, but I can't deny what's right in front of my eyes, so I'll simply have to manage.

I thought I should introduce myself properly, since there's so many people I haven't had the chance to meet yet. [ she clears her throat for dramatic pause, then continues ] I am Charlotte Pollard - Charley to my friends - and I'm a friend of the Doctor's. The Eighth one, apparently, if you're keeping score.

[ she grins again ] Coming here wasn't exactly the plan, of course, but it is a bit exciting, I must admit.

River? Oh, you're the wife, aren't you? [ Charley raises an eyebrow, trying not to smile. ] The Doctor's warned me about you. Said you were quite the handful. It's nice to meet you.

Well thank you very much! I think it's rather nice, myself. Though I go by Charley more often than not.

No, I suppose not, but if my options are to be in abject horror at the fact that I haven't got much of a say in the matter and rather curious about the non-fatal aspects of where we are, I'll take the latter, thank you very much.

It's not as if there's nothing to enjoy or find exciting here, I've only been here a short while and I already know that.

[Out of everyone. Out of everyone who showed up here with a familiar face and this is the one that gets to stay. She thought it would be temporary. That she would return to their universe and the TARDIS wouldn't have deal with her.]

[Really, it's not Charley's fault - any of it. Misplaced blame is such a terrible thing. But she can't help but be fearful to repeat the past. While the TARDIS was willing to do anything to save the Doctor and his companions that doesn't mean she hadn't been hurt because of the actions taken. Both emotionally and physically. She's not sure if she'll be hurt in the process of keeping Charley safe should danger happen.]

[So here she is. Forgetting how to breath for a moment as the video plays and for long after. She can't bring herself to say anything or even do something. In fact, the TARDIS is pretty sure she might have forgotten how to speak. She knows she should.]

[ She's still trying to figure out how to get the hang of this -- so she looks a little surprised when the video turns on. Despite being covered in scratches and looking completely a mess (still, she's awful at cleaning up), she's smiling. ]

You too? I wonder how many people are becoming permanent residents after this party is over.

[ Well, Charley tries to avoid looking like a mess and being covered in scrapes, but it's been known to happen. If she's smiling, everything's probably all right. ]

Hopefully only the ones who would take it well, I suppose. I'm rather intrigued and excited by the whole thing, but I'd imagine not everyone is. Which house put a claim on you? Maybe there's a pattern there somewhere.

[ Aww, she likes this one. The Doctor seems to have some very consistent wonderful taste in traveling companions and Mel is on board with that. ]

We try to keep score, but goodness knows if anybody will really manage it. I'm Mel- it's very nice to meet you, Charlotte!

I don't suppose it really matters that much, in the end - we all know who we belong to and they know which of us is theirs, so everything else is practically inconsequential!

I'm not sure if 'welcome' is the appropriate sentiment here, but I'll bid you welcome all the same, Miss Pollard. [It's always nice to have more friends even if they're not his friends specifically... and he definitely remembers the effect she had on Eight.] I suppose it is an adventure, in a manner of speaking.

I think it is perfectly appropriate! You can welcome me as a proper... resident, or what-have-you, rather than an extremely temporary one.

[ Rory likes you already, Charley. You're clear and to the point and you even take the time to mention which Doctor you're pals with. Truth be told, Rory is starting to have trouble keeping up with them. ]

He most certainly is, hasn't let me out of his sight since I arrived, more or less. [ she rolls her eyes a little, fondly, though she doesn't actually mind. Much. ]

And so I hear! I've already met Six, and I hear there's Eleven and... one other, I'm not sure which he is, running about. At least it's not like the last time I had to deal with multiple Doctors, though. They were all different personality traits of my Doctor, and it was so exasperating trying to get them all in one place doing something.

[ It's much appreciated. Charley and the Doctor have a few things that they really need to buck up and discuss before she'll be entirely comfortable with the "there are other people after her" thing. But at least Rose wasn't with Eight! ]

He does tend towards having good taste in traveling companions, at least. Nice to meet you, Rose!

You know, I keep forgetting to ask people where they're from. It's not as though everyone and their mother are from Earth, after all.
