I am well aware that these past days have been rather trying for all. Many were injured and even lost.

[Her gaze drops for a moment and then she's looking back up, her hands resting almost primly on her knees.]

I know it is not a lot, but if any are interested, I always have a pot of tea and plenty of cups for those who wish to come and talk. Or if talking is not something you are interested in, some tea and a few moments of silence. I know it is not much, but it is something I can offer.

I may have miscalculated, to be honest. As you say the flow of time feels different here. Slower. Probably because I just don't know what to do with myself a lot of the time.

Yes, time does seem to move rather slowly here. But perhaps you should check out the library, they have literature from all sorts of places and times. It's amazing.

That does sound interesting. I expect one could lose oneself quite thoroughly in there. For a while, at least.

I know for certain it's very possible, but there are worse things to lose oneself to.

To be sure. It seems to me that this place offers many ways to get lost, and not all of them are so benign.

[companioning]

Perhaps but I also believe it might be a place one can find themself.

[ghani]

How so?

[ She's not disagreeing, she's just curious about Inara's perspective. ]

Well this place often brings us alone, without any familiar faces. We've got to learn to have confidence in ourselves and in others... Learn to trust those around us. I suppose some can look it as a different way of growing up.

[ghani]

That is... a very constructive view to have on the situation, I'd say.
