004 - video;
[In the Hel district, Alice is sitting on the ground, dress poofed out as she is, with a drawing in her lap. Her hands are a little bit dirty from the graphite; ever so reluctantly, Alice displays it.]
Back in London when I was - well, where I wasn't important - I would draw. But it didn't feel like it does now. It feels soothing... in a way. I'm sure it sounds very silly to say that. It is true, however. It is wonderful to draw again without a bout of melancholy attached to it.
I have tried some paints. I am still not sure... I don't think I'm that very good compared to some artists I've seen sketching away or at an easel with their paints. The mineral oil used to dilute the paint gives me a headache. I don't know what would substitute it, but I want to try!
You see?
[Okay, so she's a little excited. Off to the side, Alice just flashes to a board she was painting on.]
I am... still not that used to it. As I told someone else, this is the most independence I've had in my life.
[ooc; The first drawing is canon, it's from the casebook that came with the first game and the second one was actually my oil painting final, haha.]

You actually have a lot of skill with both. You must have a great interest in the arts?
If oil paint is giving you trouble you could try watercolor or they have something now called acrylic. Both dry far too quickly for me but you might have some success with them.
[Video]
[Alice is still not used to compliments, so she is surprisingly a little sheepish.]
I... I am not so sure if I have any sort of skill. It was something I did when I was a child and when I was ill, you could say. It does calm me, yes.
I have heard of water colors, but acrylic I h have not.

Other than that maybe working outdoors would help. More fresh air might prevent a headache.
You should not be so shy your work does show potential and if you enjoy doing it that is even better! I hope you continue with your art.

[And still, a little sheepish, Alice runs her hands through her hair nervously.]
Thank you. I... I shall.

[Compliments are still hard to take.]
I can't say I have; what are crayons?

Ah, I'm afraid we don't have those in London. Or in my time, at all. How are they? What is their... consistency against paper? You do use them on paper, yes?

[He could not help find them beautiful, especially the first drawing. It looked rather interesting.]
How long have you drawing for, miss?
audio;
audio;
[Again, he begins to wonder.]
During the time you would draw, did you take any kind of class?
audio;
No. I would do it to keep myself busy, mostly.
[That's about half right.]

[ The idea of being completely dependent on another person is so alien to Road, despite her appearance. ]

I haven't been an adult that long, that's all.

video;
That's very good. In any case, ah, practice does make all the difference. If you enjoy painting, you'll certainly improve with time.
... It's not entirely my area, but I expect one might find other forms of paint for purchase -- there's a great deal of variety among some of the shops.
: video;
... Thank you.
Yes, someone told me about Freyr district, I haven't gone that far to venture to look. Just something to pass time.
