020 ✿ Audio+Text
I've started singing again. Nothing serious, it's just a couple of nights a week at this little jazz lounge in Freyr, but it's nice to be start doing something so familiar again. And I don't want to get rusty.
So - I don't know - if anyone ever wants to drop by the address is here. [She's switching over to text briefly to type out the lounge's location, then it's back to audio!] It's got some pretty good food and drinks, so it's worth checking out!
[And then her tone turns slightly more awkward, because this is kind of a personal subject.] Oh, and does anyone know if there's anything that's sort of like... books that explain how to write? Stories, I mean. Fake things that are completely one hundred percent not true. I've never done it before, so I don't know if there are specific rules or what.
[What? It's a totally benign request and has nothing to do with a desire to try writing romance-y things about people she may or may not know.]
[Filtered away from John Allerdyce]
Hey, what kinds of things should a person expect if she happened to be going on a date with someone and it involved burgers? What should I even wear...?

Hey, what kinds of things should a person expect if she happened to be going on a date with someone and it involved burgers? What should I even wear...?
[Audio]
[He grumbles, but there's no further thumps, the audio clearing up as he stops apparently trying to crawl under things. And hit his head on them, apparently.]
Dropped my chanter.
[Audio]
Your what...?
[Audio to Video]
[The question's more to himself than anything, because he's able to figure it out with only a little bit of trouble. The video has him sitting on the floor next to the table, holding up the chanter in question.]
It's this.
[Audio]
Staaaaare.]
... It's a stick?
No, it's a musical instrument. Like a...a recorder. Or a flute. This is actually part of a much bigger instrument called a bagpipe. I take it they don't have anything like this where you're from?
[Audio]
Nope! We don't use instruments very often back home since we all sing. What's a bagpipe look like?
Well, like a bag but with one that's got pipes attached to it. The chanter is what ye play the melody on. I could put it together so you can get a better idea if ye like.
[He scratches the back of his head briefly as he looks around the room, considering something.]
Although I'd best not actually play it in here. It's a wee bit loud, as instruments go.
[Audio]
How about the park? Would that be a better place?
Aye, that could work. I could get over there in no time at all.
[After all, practicing his power is good, right?]
Did ye want to meet over there, then?
[Audio]
[She figures she can take a break from work for a little bit, and it's not as if the park is too far away from the shop.]
[And he gives her a slightly cheeky smile before cutting the feed. Despite what he said earlier, though, it does take him a few minutes to pack up the bagpipes. So it's entirely possible she'll beat him there after all. Mindful of that, the moment he arrives he starts to look about to see if he can spot her - and winds up musing out loud in the process.]
Maybe I should've asked her where to meet in the park. Well, Jamie, she's got to be around here somewhere. It's just a matter of finding her, aye?
[Yes!]
Because that is where she is currently living in Asgard, and she figured she would check on her garden surrounding said mushroom while she waits for him to show up.]
[Then...Action! c:]
Hey, there ye are! I was beginning to think I wasn't going to find ye. What're ye doing over here, anyway?
no subject
I live here, obviously.
no subject
[It does have windows in it, though. So maybe she does, at that. He takes a few steps towards it, careful not to trod on any of her plants.]
I'd not realized they grew quite so large in this place.
no subject
[She pokes his side suddenly!]
But enough about that, let me see the bagpipes!
no subject
[It's a protest, yes, but one where there's still a hint of a smile about. Apparently he doesn't object to being poked all that much.]
But aye, this seems like a good place for them. Give me a moment to at least put them together, though, otherwise I'll not be able to play.
no subject
Okay, I think I can wait for that.
[She'll head over to some trees nearby and take a seat, enjoying the shade.]
But you better hurry!
no subject
[He finds a likely place and sets about putting the pipes together. While there may have been a gap during his time with the Doctor where he hadn't had much time to play, he's not forgotten how to assemble them and winds up doing so relatively quickly. However, he doesn't inflate them just yet, instead going over to where Euri is so he can show her the rather odd looking instrument instead.]
Right, there ye are. One set of bagpipes. What do ye think?
no subject
... Well, it doesn't look anything like a piano. Kind of like a bunch of flutes.
no subject
And I suppose it's for the best anyway. I'd not know what to do with a piano if ye magicked one up and dropped it in front of me. Do ye, though? Since ye did just bring that up and all.
no subject
Magic up a piano?? [That's ridiculous and hilarious and pianos are huge that would be such a weird hex.]
No, no. Back home we hardly ever used instruments, since we can all sing our magic.
no subject
Oh, aye, I see. But ye know what one is, I'm guessing. Well enough so ye can tell the difference if I played these for ye now, right?
no subject
So go ahead. I won't interrupt.
no subject
[He walks a short distance away before doing anything, however. The pipes are loud enough as it is, and he doesn't want make it worse by playing it right in her ear. Once he's satisfied with that, he starts to inflate the bag, creating a droning sort of noise that doesn't sound so musical at first. But then, using his the pressure of his arm, he's able to create a more even tone - and soon enough, he starts to play something that sounds like an actual song.
As he plays, he doesn't look directly at Euri, but rather at a spot on the tree above her head. That way he can sneak a glance at her out of the corner of his eye and get a look at the expression on her face, because he is curious to see her reaction.]
