I'm not sure anything else can explain this place. I know that spontaneously going from one place to another isn't possible in my world, and even the worlds in which it is possible, people agree that it shouldn't happen like this.

To be frank, that does nothing to make the situation seem less ridiculous.

But assume I give it the benefit of doubt... is there more information about what we are actually supposed to do?

Not really, but that doesn't seem to matter much! The colour's returned to places like the square around the castle where people spent a lot of time when we first arrived.

So we are brought here, and we are not even given proper instructions.

Hey, if they're no gods of yours, there's no reason to think of them as such. You'd be stupid as hell not to acknowledge their power, though. I know it must be pretty hard to believe, but you'll adjust to this place.

An interesting choice of punishment. But if you're after a thief, I'm sure he deserves it.

He's vain enough to make it fitting.

I'm not after him anyway, he's just a nuisance that shows up everywhere I go.

How very counter-productive for a criminal to not avoid someone with authority such as yours. He must not be a very good one.

He's better at thievery than at everything else, that's for sure. And he's got enough dumb luck.

He just would rather be there to annoy me.

In that case, I hope your stay here lacks his presence. It will be a small consolation, but this city is bad enough as it is without thieves harassing innocent people.
