Two questions, and neither of them have anything to do with each other.

At least it's Draco's thoughts on the universe with various planets, constellations, and the like scattered across it. It should also be noted that Draco's face has a few colored lines on it from the markers, paints and ink he's using. His sleeves are rolled up to his elbows and he's still severely in need of a haircut seeing how his bangs are flopping right in his eyes. He was originally planning to go outside to test his newly leveled-up flight abilities, but with how cold it's been out and how recently he's finally shaken his flu? No. Way. In Hell.

But that's not the important part here. He's not looking at the bracelet as he addresses the city again, but rather he's continuing to etch lines and draw another red circle.]

So. Who do you think you are? And where can I find a decent telescope?

They have wit and love and hate and desire. Those things have brought them far.

[as formal as his language is, his tone isn't patronizing. he's attempting a conversation]

So emotion really. That's it? How can those bring people so far forward? [Likewise, though he's incredulous he's intrigued and may be shuffling through some notes to see if he's touched upon something like this in previous conversations with people in Asgard.]

Because of all the races of Urulat, they are the only ones with all of those things. The combination of thought and desire is worth more than you know. Do Men not populate the whole of your world?

Of course they do, but there are other creatures that can feel things as well in my world.

In mine, the Shapers had Gifts. There were seven, and each had one, but the greatest were of the first four--Haomane's gift of Thought, Arahila's gift of Love, Satoris' gift of Quickening, and Oronin's Gift of Death. Haomane's Children, the Ellyl, have the first two, and are the only race untouched by Oronin's Gift, and thus by time.

And as much as they are proud and Arahila's Children revere and envy them, the Ellyl will fade into obscurity because Haomane refused Satoris' Gift. Only Arahila's Children, Men, received both Haomane's and Satoris' Gifts. Thought and Desire. Do you see?

[Sort of. In a sense.] I suppose I do, but that still doesn't make sense. Why can't the Ellyl accept the gift themselves?

That is not how it works, even if they wanted it. And my Lord lost his Gift long ago, at the beginning of the Shaper's War.

Why can't he regain it?

Because some wounds do not heal, even for Shapers. Perhaps especially for Shapers.

Anything can be regained with effort.

Ah, perhaps, once. But the time for that passed long before. Doors open and doors close.

And there's no going back?

There are some choices one cannot unmake.

I'm not sure if that's unfortunate or not.

It is and is not. All things will be as they must.

You're a bit too accepting of that for me to really believe it.

Accepting? I fought bitterly against the inevitable. Still, it came. And it is not what I wanted, but it could be worse.
