Uh, hey there! Some weather we're having, huh? It never gets this chilly where I'm from! This place sure is different from Shinjuku. Is this normal?

[Oh boy, speaking to a network of nearly 250 people is just a little bit intimidating, especially since Takato already knows that he's one of the youngest Travellers. A bit of sheepish laughter won't make anything more awkward, will it?]

I'm Takato, and I still have a lot of questions about.... uh, everything. I already know what happened, but is that why there aren't many people in the Freyr house? I mean, why would you have a slide on the second floor if almost no one lives there?

[He's alluding to Freyr's sacrifice, but bringing that up may be a bad move. A really bad move, considering what he's seen thus far.]

Anyway, what I really want to ask about is the drawing power! I mean, it's really cool but I think I'm doing something wrong because it doesn't always work the way I want it to. Is that supposed to happen or am I having technical—er, magical, I guess, difficulties? I like to draw for fun too, but I haven't seen many other people doing it. I can’t be the only one, right?

Oh, and I was wondering.... has anyone heard of Digimon before? [He visibly flinches without warning, and unsurprisingly, another round of sheepish laughter follows.] I mean the card game! The Digimon card game! I have a bunch of cards with me but I can't play by myself.

I don't think the drawings are the problem. Sometimes when I draw something I'll get a small figure thing of what I drew instead. Maybe you can't draw living things?

Well, they're kind of similar, I guess. The main difference is that Digimon can speak just like humans!

It's mostly that I can't draw monsters and different creatures, I guess. When I try they never come to life the way that objects do. Maybe they're too small?

Yeah, Digimon are kind of like Pokemon, but they're made of data.

Really? What kind of things do you like to draw? [He's trying to keep himself from sounding too excited, but hey, he hasn't met any other doodlers yet! Look, he'll even hold up his notebook for Red to see!] I've probably filled up half of this thing since I got here!

Digimon are Digital Monsters! They're from a different world called the Digital World. That's where my partner Guilmon is right now! [It's been a year since they parted, so he won't let himself be sad about it anymore. They promised to meet again, after all!]

The slide is an interesting feature... I don't know that I have ever heard of a house with a slide inside before.

I think your power does take some getting used to. From my own experiences with it I have discovered that you have to believe the magic will work before it will, you have to draw the object the size you want it to come off the page, and it has to be something simple with no hidden material inside. Like, a can of canned soup would come out only as a solid can-shaped piece of metal with none of the food inside.
Oh and, one more thing. You should be careful while practicing with your power since using it requires energy. If you use it too much you could pass out or even die.

It's kind of a waste for it to be on the second floor though. I've gone up before just so I can slide down again. [Cut him a break, he's only 12! Slides are fun at any age.] So that means you're in the Freyr house too?

No hidden material? Whoa, I hadn't heard about that part! Maybe that's why some of the things I draw turn out weird?

O-kay, I won't be trying that anytime soon. [What are they thinking, allowing people to have powers that could kill them?!]

Now that you mention it, I guess it does sound kind of weird. It's one of the powers that people in the Freyr house can get.

First you have to get a deck of Digimon cards! [And he holds one up.] This is Agumon! He's one of my favourites.

You can buy them with your allowance and then trade with your friends to get even better ones! Uh, unless they try to rip you off.
