I... I don't understand...

[The small, slender Japanese girl with the high ponytail and downtilted eyes might be familiar to some. She's standing in front of Heimdall House with a newcomer's letter in her hands, dressed in the same uniform as the first time she arrived, but it doesn't quite fit right anymore - she's gotten taller since she made it, started to fill out a little. At least in Asgard, which proves that she hasn't been completely reset.

The confusion on her face starts to contort into alarm as her words confirm that truth.]

Isn't - it over? I remember Freyr - when he - wasn't that the end? But now it's like none of it ever happened... the letter, and the maid, and everything looks just like the first time...

[And now edging into panic as she leans against one of the house's walls, wrapping her arms around her middle and shivering.]

What's going on?!

[Oh fuck if this is some trick by the gods there will be hell to pay but right now she's just going to be really happy.]

Nakama~! Where are you? Is that Heimdall? I'm coming over!

[Again, it's hard to place someone just by voice at first, particularly through the confusion in her own head. But at the delighted exclamation, she knows exactly who she's talking to.]

Euri. [The warmth in her voice is evident.] It's good to - oh, no, you don't have to do that! I mean, not if you're busy or anything!

I'm not! [Well. Running her and Draco's store. But screw Draco if he complains.]

So where are you? [Because she really needs to get her hug on here.]

[Audio]

[whatagoodgirl]

Well, okay... [She sounds hesitant at first, but then there's an audible smile.] You were right, I'm in Heimdall. I can just wait here, or we can meet somewhere, whatever's easiest for you.

I can come over there. It's no problem. [She's already grabbing her coat and scarf.] I'll be there soon.

Okay, I'll see you soon.

[She sits down on the house's front steps, tugging at her now too-short skirt to keep it over her knees and continuing to shiver in the cold. She'll have no clothes, no belongings, none of the things that were given to her from home or the gifts she received here - it feels so strange. Starting a life she's already lived over again.]

[It won't be too long until Euri arrives. Having been here so long she knows the quickest route to Heimdall's welcome house, so soon she'll come into view.]

Nakama~! [She's waving at first, but once she's close enough Euri is throwing her arms around the other girl in a tight hug.]

[Nakama stands up just in time to nearly be bowled over by Euri's hug. She lets out a quiet oof, but quickly returns the embrace.]

Hi. [It's shy and a bit awkward, like there's so much more she wants to say but the words won't come.]

[While Nakama is shy, Euri is... going to be bursting into tears.

Yep.

Because Nakama's back from being very dead and maybe, maybe this means Vanitas will come back soon, too.]

Oh - Euri! [She pulls back in alarm, wringing her hands.] I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you worry...!

N - no, no! It's - it's okay! [Mostly. She's quickly rubbing at her eyes with one hand, taking several deep breaths.]

[whatagoodgirl]

[She respectfully gives Euri a few moments to gather herself, taking the time to look around her home district.]

Everything's changed, but because it's gone back to being the same. It... it feels so weird.

[She's grateful. That extra bit of time allows her to get a hold of herself.]

It was the war. It... it brought some of the grey back.

I heard Freya left, too, because of Freyr? [She speaks softly, solemnly, despite her earlier hatred of the gods. Everything was irrevocably changed after Freyr made his sacrifice.]

Yeah. She - did something. [She frowns faintly.] Made everyone in Freya feel cut off for a minute or two.

[whatagoodgirl]

I never had a sibling, so I don't know what it would feel like... but I think it would be hard to put a city over family, even one as important as Asgard.

[She frowns as well, in concern.]

But you're okay, right? It didn't last at all?

It doesn't excuse everything else they'd done to us, though.

- Yeah, it only lasted a moment. Then things were back to normal.

[whatagoodgirl]

No, of course not! I just - wouldn't want to lose one of my family to war, especially not like that.

[Like her mom had lost her.]

..... [She is just so reluctant to show the gods any sympathy.]

I guess.

The important thing is that everyone's alright, though... the people in Freya and Freyr, I mean. I don't know how it works without gods there to bond our souls to, but at least you're not all - caught between worlds, or powerless or anything.

I'd hunt the gods down and kick their asses if something that bad happened.

[whatagoodgirl]

[... Euri, do you know who you sound like. Just sayin'.]

Well, as long as it's quiet, we can worry about getting the city healthy again and being more ready for the next fight. The gods mostly just got in the way of that, anyway, so having them busy sorting themselves out could be a good thing.

[occulthymns]

[Shh that's how she normally sounds when under duress.]

Mm! I think a concert is going to be put on soon, not run by the gods, so that should help. [And she grins, poking Nakama's shoulder.] You're going to have to find work again, too.

[whatagoodgirl]

I know. I don't even know if Tailor Made is still here, or if my bosses have gone grey again, or anything. [She wrings her hands, starting to fret anew.] There's so much to catch up on.

[In response Euri is going to ruffle her hair.]

Well, even if you have to find a new job I'm sure it won't be tough. And I now owe you a Christmas gift, so you can look forward to that.
