I... I don't understand...

[The small, slender Japanese girl with the high ponytail and downtilted eyes might be familiar to some. She's standing in front of Heimdall House with a newcomer's letter in her hands, dressed in the same uniform as the first time she arrived, but it doesn't quite fit right anymore - she's gotten taller since she made it, started to fill out a little. At least in Asgard, which proves that she hasn't been completely reset.

The confusion on her face starts to contort into alarm as her words confirm that truth.]

Isn't - it over? I remember Freyr - when he - wasn't that the end? But now it's like none of it ever happened... the letter, and the maid, and everything looks just like the first time...

[And now edging into panic as she leans against one of the house's walls, wrapping her arms around her middle and shivering.]

What's going on?!

[ ... this is perhaps the first time Hanako would ever open the communication via video, on her own volition and without any hesitation. Eyes wide, hands clasped over her mouth, she utters the name as she shivers. That wasn't even a month away, was it... did the prayers of everyone reach the gods in the end? She's back-- she's back, she's back, she's back, she's back... ]

Nakama... san...

[Nakama knows enough about Hanako to know what this video means, and with the memory of their last intense conversation in her head, she finds her eyes growing misty as she looks into her friend's eyes. Still, a bit of a smile breaks through.]

Hi, Hanako.

Y, You're back...

[ There's literally nothing else she can say that can express just how many feelings she's having right now, most of them clearly positive. But the image of Nakama shivering comes back to mind, and she bites her lip in apprehension. ]

Are you... are you alright?

I'm fine, Hanako, honestly. [That 'bear through anything' smile will be familiar.] It was all just - a bit of a shock, that's all. I didn't even know I was gone.

What about you? Have you been okay?

[ ... the vision becomes foggy. Before she knows, there are tears gathering in her eyes. ]

I've been... okay... n-nothing bad happened since you were gone...

[ She can't hold back a sob. ] I missed you...

Oh, Hanako... [Her smile crumbles, and she feels her own eyes start to mist over.] I'm here now. I was here for the start of this, and I'll see the finish of it. I don't care if they try to send me away again, I'll find my way back.

I really missed you, Nakama-san...

[ They can't stop... the tears fall from her eyes and she furiously wipes them away. ]

It's selfish of me, but please don't go away again... you didn't deserve to go, not you, of all people...

[ Deserving death, above all. ]

[A lump rises in her throat, and she knows that she won't be able to fight her own tears forever, so she finally just lets them flow.]

I promise. [She hates to make promises she doesn't know if she can keep, but she can't bear to see Hanako like this because of her.] I promise, okay?

[ She sobs, crying in her hands- completely covering her face. It's too much, she's probably making Nakama sad with this, so pathetic... but at least she promised. It's selfish and maybe a little manipulative, knowing that Nakama can't control when she can or can't leave Asgard, but still- just for once... ]

We should do something good together. Something fun. It was so awful here for so long... we should try to enjoy the city again. [She tilts her head, hoping to cheer Hanako up a bit.] Would that be okay?

[ ... Nodding through all that. ]

Let's... let's do s-something... there were so many parties last week, but it wasn't the same without you...

[She smiles in relief.]

Parties always make me nervous, anyway. It'll be better with just the two of us.

You're right... though it lifted the spirits, I would rather meet up with you and d-do something... anything.

[ Then, she's reminded of that thing she's done in Heimdal. Ah, would it be embarassing to tell Nakama about it, she wonders? ]

... There's something I have to show you, as well.

Oh...? [She can't make out what kind of something it is from Hanako's tone, so she just tilts her head curiously.] Well, we can do that any time you want. I'll have a lot to catch up on, but friends are most important.

Just let me know when you're free... I don't want to hold you back from talking with everyone else. You must be overwhelmed right now...

No, it's a good thing. [Yeah, she totally is. But she has to keep reminding herself of this.] If people like me and missed me, that's... I can't be unhappy about that. But I guess I do have to try and pace myself a little.

Mhm... which is why it's best if we saw each other when you settle down again.

Do you have any idea of what you want to do? Other than show me your thing?

Well... Nashi would be happy to see you- and... there's also a new pet I've gotten. [ ... ] But it still... has yet to be born.

Oh, yeah, that sounds like fun. I bet Daichi is big enough to go on walks now, too.

[B-Blink.]

You mean - I don't understand -

... Well, I've gotten a Pokémon from an anonymous person about three weeks ago.

A Pokemon? [Her face lights up.] But if it's not born... do you mean it's in an egg? Are they breeding them now?

I guess so... and yes, it's still an egg. Hisao and I are taking turns trying to help it hatch.
