third wing Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ video

[There's a very, very tall man on your video today, Asgard. A man in a bright purple suit, and sunglasses even though there's no sun to be seen, what with the oncoming winter weather.]

Yeah, so I don't do this often, the posting thing, I mean, but I felt like something needed to be said.

[And he holds up his clasped hands, opening them slightly- inside them is a colorless butterfly, flapping it's wings feebly.]

Since it's pretty much a given we are going to be stuck here for a while long, possibly forever because life hates us, I've figured I ought to do something with my time about the insect population, considering winter's coming and all.

That's right, insects. Because at least these things are way more deserving of my help than humans are. So, here's the deal! I'm going to be creating one of those...what are they called, butterfly houses? And you bring me any butterflies or moths you have hanging around your place. Consider it a nice little donation to the cause, alright? And I don't know, I'll do something like not insult you for 24 hours. That's a pretty good deal, take advantage of it.

[A pause as he frowns at the camera.]

However...if you bring me any dead butterflies or moths, I'll seriously punch you in the face. They have to be alive. Don't test me, okay?

...

And if anyone actually knows how to create a butterfly house in the first place, that would be kind of helpful too.

No, I've died before. I just... don't stay dead. I don't know if I could die of old age or not yet. It's complicated.

No, living, breathing. New body. No brains. I can pretend to be a vampire if you want, but I don't generally do that. I just... get brought back.

So, yeah, the whole 'come back from the dead' part of this place? Does not surprise me nearly as much as it did some.

My father. I think I might have mentioned having daddy issues in the past. And trust me, I die. You really don't want to debate terms on this.

No, it would make me claw your eyes out if you meant it seriously. And yes, it is confusing... and I lived it.

A lot of people like them. They have their good days and bad days. I think I'll skip the memoirs if it's all the same to you, but maybe someone'll make a fortune that way one day.

Never said I'm not possibly getting filthy stinking rich, but not with a memoirs. I'm more the 'brew potions' sort of person. Money's better.

Stuff to boost your stamina so you can use you powers for longer? Kinda like drinking coffee only for the powers the gods give you. Curse protection amulets. The locals love those things. I make decent poultices too. A little better than regular medicine, but not quite as fast or good as the magic people can work.

That... and weirder stuff.

I'm working on a potion for breathing underwater right now, for example. Not exactly something you'll see a lot of use for, but it's odd when these things come in handy, and when they do it's big.

There's an ocean far to the south, but you could always use it in the lake here in town. A few options, but it's not really the sort of thing you'll use much.

...And yeah, there's gills, at least for a little while. They disappear when it runs out.

About an hour. You can keep the dosage up for a few doses, but I don't suggest more than four or five. Too much'll get toxic.

Price of using fixed magic like this. You never want to use too much, or it's going to build up in the blood. The stuff's pretty potent as is.

Warnings are clear, I'm my own guinea pig, and there's not really a court around here to do lawsuits, so it's not like it works in some worlds. Besides, though, I make sure anyone taking these potions knows what they do.

Rule of thumb, study before you eat. Just shoving herbs down your throat's a good way to poison yourself, as you can guess.

I sell them so folks have an extra edge, and for the money to research bigger projects. Or did you mean prices? I can send you a price list if you want.

(OOC: It's generally handwaved, but you can get the general idea that they're a little pricy, but not impossible to get, though one of those level 2 vouchers definitely goes a long way.)
