[ The camera clicks on to reveal Simon, sitting in his room at Sigyn house. He looks nervous and he visibly takes in a deep breath to calm himself before he begins. ]

Um. [ Well. Excellent start there. ] For those of you that don't... know me, my name-- my name is Simon - Simon Tam - and I'm in Sigyn house. With, uh, with Healing.

[ A pause. What was his point again? Oh yes. Cue another deep breath. ]

I-- I would like to contribute to society here in some way and therefore I'm enquiring after some employment. In the medical field, if possible. Given recent... events, it seems my skills as a doctor could prove quite useful.

[ He reaches up a hand to tug nervously at his ear. ]

For what it-- For what it's worth, I am... very smart. Back home, I-- I graduated in the top three percent of my class at the best Medical Academy available and I successfully completed my internship within eight months as opposed to the standard year.

... I'm fairly certain there must be some medical practises here to which I could lend my services. I'm led to believe that there is a... clinic here of some sort?

There's the hospital over in your district. I'm sure another doctor wouldn't hurt. If you're not the hospital type, check with Doc Watson. He's a nice guy, runs a clinic over in Heimdall. Yakuzen Clinic's a good place if you ask me. I think he might need some more help, so worth at least giving him a call. I'll bet the clinic you're thinking of's that one.

[ There's the sound of scuffling as he hunts for a pen and paper, followed by a lengthy pause as he scribbles all the information down. ]

The hospital could always use more healers! And they've got lots of machines there - I'm not sure how to use them myself, but I'm sure they would be glad to have another person who knows how to operate them!

Ah. I'm from Sigyn with healing as well. I don't know about jobs [oh, right, should he be... looking into that as well...?] — but they always need help down at the hospital.

[Helpfully:] It can be a good way to get more familiar with your ability.

Indeed. I-- I don't know about you or your world, but having abilities such as these is a... foreign concept to me. To say the least. So far, the only thing I've, um, discovered about mine is that it's capable of healing only the most minimal cuts and bruises.

It's something you can get better at, though. With practice.

I do. Yes. Um, River. River Tam? [ Spoken like a question just to make sure they're talking about the same person. ]

Did you specialize in any field in particular or -- no, let's discuss your qualifications in person.

How soon could you come by for an interview?

In any case -- perhaps you should think about research instead of practice? There are plenty of healers here, though admittedly never enough -- but advancement, rapid advancement, and adaptation in our knowledge is not so plentiful.

Oh. While it seems like an interesting field, certainly, I-- I must say, I've never really seen myself as a medical researcher. I'm a qualified trauma surgeon back home so I suppose you could say I like to be in the thick of things, more so.

Besides [ A corner of his mouth pulls up in a smile. ] my sister, she, uh, she got the lion's share of the brains in our family. Next to her, I'm something of an idiot child.
