[ The camera clicks on to reveal Simon, sitting in his room at Sigyn house. He looks nervous and he visibly takes in a deep breath to calm himself before he begins. ]

Um. [ Well. Excellent start there. ] For those of you that don't... know me, my name-- my name is Simon - Simon Tam - and I'm in Sigyn house. With, uh, with Healing.

[ A pause. What was his point again? Oh yes. Cue another deep breath. ]

I-- I would like to contribute to society here in some way and therefore I'm enquiring after some employment. In the medical field, if possible. Given recent... events, it seems my skills as a doctor could prove quite useful.

[ He reaches up a hand to tug nervously at his ear. ]

For what it-- For what it's worth, I am... very smart. Back home, I-- I graduated in the top three percent of my class at the best Medical Academy available and I successfully completed my internship within eight months as opposed to the standard year.

... I'm fairly certain there must be some medical practises here to which I could lend my services. I'm led to believe that there is a... clinic here of some sort?

[ He just sort of smiles and - yep - there's even more blushing.

After a moment, he clears his throat when he realises that he should probably say something. ]

Uh, how are you-- how are you settling into Asgard?

[Aww he's adorable. Will definitely start hanging around the clinic more if he joins.]

Well enough. Still haven't hand much of a chance to mess about with my magic. Been busy exploring Utgard and moving into a new home with the crew. Going to do the whole... housemates thing.

That's, uh... good. Yes. Um, my sister and a-- a friend of mine, they both went to Utgard. From what River has told me, it was a, uh, a very enjoyable experience.

Ah, perhaps you ran into them while you were there? River Tam and Inara Serra?

Ah, Inara. The Pretty one. Talked to her on the network. Wouldn't mind talking to her a little more.

Haven't met River yet, but I think the Doctor knows her.

[ He gives her a tiny smile. ]

Yes, um, she seems quite taken with him actually. Lǐngjié, I believe she calls him.

It's easy to like the Doctor. He's got that charm.

[it's a nice thing to say, but there's something tired about it.]

[ A wry smile. ]

Would that, ah, charm include his tendency to stay up to all hours, banging around in his room, and giving the person in the room next to him many sleepless nights?

[ Pffft, he loves you really, Doctor. ]

Should I regret agreeing to share a room with him then?

I'm just, ah, pointing out that you probably won't get much sleep.

I don't sleep much anyway. We're already the perfect roommates.
