First. I want to know where you come from. Your daughter? Uh huh. She's very mysterious. She never talks about herself and she dodges questions and she thinks I don't notice her - her misdirection? But I do. I do. But that's all right because she's Ange and Ange is special. If it's Ange it's okay. Where were you before you woke up here? What's your family like? Why don't any of you have Japanese names? Also what house are you in?

Let's see, start with the easy ones, I'm in Baldr, came from...Earth? Japan? I was on this island called Rokkenjima, the old man owns it. Guess if you want to be more specific, in the main hall in the mansion. We don't have Japanese names 'cause dad thought it'd be funny to name all his kids weird shit, I guess. He's got a Japanese name, Kinzo, but then there's Krauss, Eva, Rosa and me. If we had to suffer, then our kids should too, right? More like it's just sort of tradition now, I guess. But see, we've all got kanji and everything, at least. The Ushiromiyas are...well, dad's senile and thought he could raise the dead by sacrificing all of us, used to be real scary when we were kids too, if dad got angry, you'd get a real beating. Everyone pretty much knew he had a mistress, but he'd never admit it. Aniki and Aneki're pretty much the same, just that Aniki's a dumbass and at least Aneki's pretty smart. Bullied me a lot as kids...guess we still do that, actually. Rosa's the baby of the family, not too bright, real short fuse with her daughter - I feel sorry for the kid. But not a big surprise since that's pretty much what mom and dad taught her. Aniki's wife is a stick in the mud, probably because she had to marry him of all people, and Aneki's always picking a fight with her. Aneki's husband's a pretty good guy, the resident jolly fat guy for sure. Rosa's husband ran off, so. Then the kids are all pretty good, Aneki's son's the oldest, and the smart one, Aniki's kid's the total opposite of her mother, Rosa's is still pretty young, but she does a lot of whining. And I guess you know Ange and Battler. As a whole, the family doesn't really get along, the kids are great together, and everybody but dad, Aniki and Natsuhi are pretty good with the kids, but with all us adults, it's just a lot of tension. Well, except Hideyoshi and Kyrie, they get along with everybody pretty good, but that's different, they're not in the middle of things. Since dad owns an island, you can probably tell he's damn rich, there's plenty of servants there too.

...Okay. Since you asked. I can't tell you what she said exactly because it took her a while to say so, and when she did, it was in confidence. Whatever else your family is? You do have a problem with trust. And that's affected her too. So maybe you shouldn't bicker so much while you're here. But I don't break things like that. Ever.

Ange hasn't had the easiest life. I don't think any of you have, and I don't think any person has really. But this place? And these people here? They're important to her whether you like that or not. So - maybe she'll fight in the war and maybe she won't. But I think she's going to do what she has to in the end. Because that's the kind of person she is. A good person. Even if she pretends not to be. And I think you're going to want to protect her happiness more than her body because you're her father and I feel like maybe that's what parents want. Even if you pretend not to.

Just... know that it's probably not going to be as easy as making a list.
