❦ 008-> accidental video/open to action for those in the new camelot house { canon updating }
[ It starts with a scream.
Although you hear just the end of it, a pierce, hysteric cry as an image comes to life in this late hour of the night. The bracelet shows nothing; just a blurry image that turns out to be white silks and pale hands as they shakily try to pull it, almost violently, off.
It takes a moment, perhaps by now you will hear other voices as whomever it was that screamed, they were bound to wake people up. Still, pale hands pull, frustrated and panicked before the task is done and the bracelet is thrown to the other side of the bedroom.
After that, all you can hear is the sound of a jewelry box as it hits the floor, spilling necklaces, rings and hair ornaments everywhere.
Perhaps you can will notice an image of a girl, a soft whimper of no, no as she turns - black hair falling down her black and flees from her bedroom through a door into what could only be a bathroom.
A slam of said door and a click of a lock.
And then everything is silent. ]
[ ooc; and so, after a dream of more than a year in Camelot (!!), Morgana is now canon updated into mid 2x12, Fires of Idirsholas where everyone is sleeping, Morgana is partly responsible and nothing is beautiful and everything hurts.
Replies will come a few hours after this is broadcasted. ]

You do me honor, my lady. I have not yet earned the right to be called Sir.
[It seems like even she, who knows little of him, expects him to be what he has yet to become. It's a struggle, to compete against his own future self.]
no subject
You are different.
no subject
All I did was my duty, no more.
[Title or no, his duty to the kingdom and Arthur will never change. His smile returns again at the last part; yes, he is different.]
I am lowborn. My life has probably been starkly different from theirs.

[ she smiles a bit. ]
We went to help Merlin's village once even though Uther forbade it. We rode to Ealdor and my time there...we have richness in our court. Jewels and silks but they are richer than us in certain terms. Nobility is false and lacking. The one nobles I ever truly loved were my late father and Arthur.
no subject
They cannot all be so bad - the knights -
[The noblest men in the land, the ones he so desperately longed to join. He doesn't pursue the matter of the village, it brings back sad memories and his grip tightens the slightest bit around his mug.]

Arthur is different. He may be a prince which allows him more independence but it also binds him down with ropes of duty to his father. Still, he is much better than any man I've ever met. He will disobey his father if the situation calls for it.
And you - you helped us. Even when Uther had forbade it, your duty is to every man and woman in Camelot. I think that what makes a man worthy, knight or otherwise.
no subject
It's not that he disagrees with her words - but the fact that they're her words - that the king's own ward should speak so harshly of him is difficult to comprehend.]
May I ask -- what orders you speak of? [Because they sound like specific things and it seems the most gentle way to go about this.]
no subject
I cannot imagine how they can stand there watching him chop their head off, drown them or burn them and still call themselves knights. That age of gallantry is gone from our world, Lancelot. They enjoy defending some of Camelot's people while treating the others as nothing but prey.
Tell me, do you think it just?
no subject
No. I believe people should be measured according to their actions, not their abilities. A sword can strike the innocent, and it can rise to defend them. Magic can do the same.
[He will protect Merlin with his life.]
no subject
[ no. ]
Camelot does. We have fallen to great darkness. Days in which Uther has his men chasing a boy around the city to hang him for being a Druid. No child should grow up in such fears.
I rest my hopes in Arthur and I believe in him. It is no secret that I love my brother truly and loyally; but I hope that he shall have men like you to assist him when his days as king are finally upon us.
no subject
But no, under Arthur it will surely be different.]
I believe in him as well, and knight or not I will serve him until my last breath has left my body.
no subject
[ twice, even. Once Uther and then Gorlois. ]
I cannot lose Arthur. Camelot cannot lose Arthur. I trust you to protect he who I love most in this city.
no subject
I vow to you, I will let no harm come to him. I will protect him with my life.
no subject
no subject
[Of which he swore to himself, but it still counts.]
I am glad I could bring you peace.
no subject
Forgive me, I have burdened you so.
[ it was easier, being she was now in Camelot, natural. She did not have to pretend to be the girl she was here. Too easy. ]
no subject
[He shakes his head, still kneeling before her.]
No, not at all. This is the life I chose for myself, and I am proud of every service I am able to provide. There is nothing to forgive.
no subject
[ not to her. She is Uther's bastard and she had brought disaster onto the people she loved in her idiocy. How she wishes to see Morgause again, she is not angry with the woman, no. She just wants to understand/
Suddenly, she looks like a different person. The outspoken woman disappears and replaced by the sad mixture of times and worlds that she has become. lonely, perhaps even scared. ]
I shall leave you.
no subject
[He doesn't know what else to say to her or what he did wrong to trigger this change, but he lets go of her hand, not wanting to cause her any discomfort.]
no subject
You can protect Arthur.
[ I could not. I had failed him. ]
And that would be enough. Thank you, Lancelot. I shall not forget the kindness you have shown me.
[ with that, she all but flees. She doesn't want to burden him with her tears. ]
no subject
So he gets up and sits back down in his chair. He looks at his coffee before pushing it away, burying his head in his hands.
She gave him much to think about.]
