[Samantha opted, when setting up the feed, to go with voice only. She still looked like hell, and she didn't need anyone seeing or asking stupid questions. It wasn't their business. But, after speaking to Conan, she'd resolved that it was time to stop trying to hide from this place any further. When she spoke, her voice had a tired quality to it, but was still strong.]

So, Asgard.

I wanted to discuss something with those of you who will still speak with me right now. These powers that we have. Most of the people I see seem to think of them as a good thing, a blessing of sorts, or at least they partially make up for the tricks you had in your homeworlds. Right.

Here's the thing I wanted to talk about. Most I've spoken to seem to think of these powers as something that's being used to help other people around here, or to protect people that can't protect themselves. How do you people handle the fact that any of them can be abused, misused or mishandled? What do people around here do to prepare themselves to be protected if those powers get used for the wrong reasons? I've been thinking a lot lately about how people could protect themselves from some of these powers, and it worries me.

Not all of us are nice people, you know.

Aren't you bitter! [ She laughs a bit. ] You're the one that asked and I just told you what this place has.

If you're hoping for something like a buddy system, why don't you start one yourself?

[She had a buddy... almost. At the very least, her buddy might even be able to survive her if she went nuts again.]

What I'm looking for more is ways people can defend themselves against the power if they're being abused, not catch and imprison them afterwards. Buddies are fine for protecting a little, but that's hardly practical or even wise.

I'll try to figure out some type of self-defense practice against each type of power if that keeps you at ease. It's not much, but it is all I can offer for now. There are only a couple of harmful ones, but they're still dangerous either way. [ Her tone when she says this is a bit different from before, but she'll have to think about it. ]

It sounds like you have had some harsh experiences. Did something happen?

I... would prefer to know ways to protect people from certain effects if at all possible. I...

[She sighed. She'd gone mad on the network. Why hide it?]

I want to know ways to protect people when I go demonic again. Just dodging the bullet's not consistent enough.

I can't offer you any pennies since I have no idea how that works. Mind giving me some details? Obviously, if you don't want to, you don't have to.

I'm a half demon. It's hard, sometimes, to control the part of me that isn't human and I act it out. It doesn't happen that often [hopefully], but at the same time it's there.

Abrupt. Maybe a minute's warning, though here's a good rule of thumb. Don't try to get me turned on. That can end real badly. I don't like being touched for a reason.

How watered down are you here in Asgard?

Does what I was there matter here? It's not like I can get any of that back while I'm here according to what I've heard. Tough, claws, tail, fangs, and whatever that bitch Hel gave me.

More like how much of a handful you are here. Some of us still retain our physiology and attributes.

An overpowered vampire can still pack more of a punch than a human in Asgard, even watered down, but it's different for everyone. I'm trying to help you--you don't really need to bite back so much.

[A sigh. This was not easy for her, and she knew it. Talking with Diva wasn't helping things.]

You're right. Look, I don't like talking about it, ok? It's not like it's pleasant to talk about the psycho in the back of your head.

I'm probably tougher than most humans, but not necessarily a lot. I'm definitely a little faster than some, but it's still mostly human. Just, I'd say think of me as better than average, but with claws and a tail.

That's understandable! I'll try to make this quick, then. [ She can kiiiind of relate, but not exactly. ]

All right. That's good to know... Would you like to say the change is more about one's person than any attributes? Because if your physical stats are the same when you turn, I think we can try some drills and work something out. [ TAILS AND CLAWS ARE NOTHING, unless this tail is like a huge crocodile tail. Basically like wrestling with a lion. ]

It's personality. I don't go she-hulk on the world when I change, so there's not a huge difference from me right now. It's mostly in how I'll react and what I'll use or do in the middle of things.

[Heh, you'd be surprised. That tail's caught people off guard before.]

All right... That isn't too bad, then. I can keep you in check until we find something suitable, if you don't mind, obviously.

Let's skip the whole watching over my shoulder like a hawk thing. I'm self-conscious enough about this whole thing. But yeah, a little checking in's ok maybe. It's Samantha Grey, and I'm moving out of the psycho house of horrors as soon as I get enough saved up.

Heeeey, I don't think we're that bad! Sure some of them are creeps, but you can easily kick them to the curb when they get gross. [ Laughing a bit. It's because she bullies everyone, but no one needs to know that. ]

Which district you're planning to run off to?

Deity? Nevermind. I shouldn't be surprised by people saying things like that anymore. And, really? You must not've met Kaz, I take it? Little creeper.

Loki. The apartments are apparently cheaper over there, cheap enough I could probably net one where I can live alone. Keeps the trouble less if I have a short episode. Nobody has to worry about living with me.

Yeah. I was a deity back home, but you know I'm just downgraded here. Not really a big deal or anything. Oh... [ Actually. ] Kaz is scared of me.

The place of tricksters, huh? They're pretty weird themselves... [ If not even worse bullies. ] But that's reasonable with your predicament.

Well, the district's not the same as the house. I'm just looking for an apartment I can put triple locks on the doors in. And you scared that little pissant, did you? Good on you. Little dick needs a lesson in manners, but I'd rather not go near him.

That's true, I guess. Both inside and out? [ She laughs a bit. She hasn't thought too much about a lock in centuries. ] I wish you luck though! There are plenty of jobs out there with good pay--and that's better than most of Hel who like to laze around with free lodging.

Yeaaah. Though it wasn't on purpose! He tried to bite me so I bit him back and he just suddenly became all sheepish and meek. [ Pfft. ] Don't let him get to you though, he's generally on a leash.

Though I would say you're missing out, it's fun to tease him once in awhile.

Oh, I'm already working at Doctor Watson's clinic. I'm just saving up before I go to a new place. Seems like a good idea to not just jump out without a couple weeks savings at least. Pay's pretty good, and it's giving me an idea or two.

I'll remember that about biting him, but honestly he's not really leashed around me, and the last time I went nuts I kind of... Well, let's just say flirting with him while singing the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" isn't a good way to make him nice.

Still a good start! Really better than nothing--pretty sure you'll move out pretty soon, too, especially if it's in a clinic rather than picking up tips. Reminds me I should probably make an ad for housemates.

[ Aaaand she just ends up laughing really hard. That is hilariou in her opinion.

[Samantha didn't think it was hilarious at all, but she was more than a little too hung up about the seriousness of her 'condition' at times to find that her half-naked, flirting with Kaz about threatening to drawn him in a waterspout was probably one of the only really funny moments of that night.

It was even better because it drove the boy completely nuts.]

Oi. Stop laughing, please. It wasn't that funny. Yeah, he and I don't get on well at all.

[That was going to make the day after tomorrow even funnier, and she had no idea.]
