If you were to take loyalties to a king, what kind of king would you want them to be? Would you think better if they were harsh or if they were wise? What sort of person would you lend your allegiances too?

[ It's a general topic. he's curious to hear the opinions of people around him. he seems less rigid than when he first arrived. the break from all the battles has done well on him. he's not uneasy and robb speaks with a warm confidence. ]

I cannot call myself well versed in kings, but I do know one such prince who will one day be king, and I intend to serve him for the rest of my life.

Too easily can the truth concerning some become the truth concerning all when one must rule a vast kingdom, but that is a grave mistake to make.

I should think it is also very important that a king be able to decide for himself as well, but also consult his council.

That is true, again it requires him to have the wisdom to discern when the advice he's been given should be followed.

He is. [He smiles proudly; he may not allow himself to use the title of knight just yet -- but just to say that he serves Arthur is more than enough.] His name is Arthur Pendragon.

He sounds like an interesting sort of man. This place has a habit of summoning those of valour to it's walls.

He is, should you have a chance you will do well to speak to him. [And a nod] It stands to reason, if the Gods want for men to fight for them.

Fight for them, ser? Do we have things to battle?

[sworntovalor]

I only know what I've been told since arriving, but it seems there are - other nations who rage war upon Asgard, although from what I've been told they do not attack with organized armies but small groups. Apparently part of the reason we have been brought here for is to fight for Asgard in a battle to save this world, and through that by some means our own.

[robb]

And have you laid witness to these troops ser? If we are here to fight their war, should we not get say aside from the assurance - which we cannot mark as either truth nor falsehood - before we agree to such?

[sworntovalor]

No, I've only recently arrived. What I tell you has been explained to me by a man called Castiel.

[robb]

When I had arrived, everything was explained to me by sister and the people of the network. I should imagine times were more difficult for those who had arrived earlier.

We are fortunate to have arrived when we did.

Did you arrive at the same time as companions of your world?

[sworntovalor]

No, they all preceded me, although they all come from later points in our lives.

[robb]

Is that a common event then?

[ a beat. ]

Did they tell you what the future held for you?

[ he asks because - he's the one ahead of everyone ]

It seems so.

[He pauses - before smiling.]

They told me one thing, that I will be a knight.

[robb]

[ he grins. ]

Had you always dreamt of knighthood? There is much glory in being placed in a King's Guard.

[sworntovalor]

For most of my life.

[He nods, what came before dreams of knighthood is likely to surprise him he's sure. And while he had no problem discussing his past he does realize it's a gloomy topic.]

And much honor, especially in serving Prince Arthur.

[robb]

Is this just because he is your king, or has he done deed to warrant such loyalty?

[ He's mostly curious. ]

He is not my king yet, but he has proven himself a man of great courage and honor. The very fact that he should even consider knighting the likes of me speaks volumes of him, since - [and here it comes] the First Code of Camelot states that only men of noble blood may serve, and not a drop of nobility courses through my veins.

[robb]

That is a code for fools. A man should be given knighthood not for how much land his family holds but on his valor and skills upon battle.

Nobility can be seized.

[sworntovalor]

[This is where he chooses his words a little more carefully because although on a personal note Uther is hardly his favorite person, he is the king and Arthur's father.]

They are chosen out of the families who have sworn their allegiance to the king.

[He shakes his head, a little sadly. His visit to Camelot was not what he expected it to be and he realizes now how naive he was but some parts haven't lost their sting following that realization.]

It could not, before Arthur.

So only the one's who are already given the opportunity of glories since birth are allowed to hold them?

[ not that westeros' knighting system is any better, but at least their more considerate. he's pretty sure people who don't have a big name or sworn to lands are still allowed to participate in tourneys. ]

[It's not the most flattering way to say it but it is true, so he nods.]

Yes, but Arthur will change that.
