[ Zelda has had ample time to toy with her bracelet and learn its functions (for the most part), so she is fairly confident when she begins her broadcast. She has taken the time to observe other people, to learn how and why they use their bracelets. She's even tried them out a few times to talk to other people, so it seems high time she made a broadcast of her own. ]

[ She smiles to the camera and offers a wave in greeting. ]

So, this place isn't at all what I thought the surface would be like. [ She muses aloud, then corrects herself. ] Or, well, I guess this isn't exactly the surface, is it? It's a whole different world from my own.

[ That's still so strange to her, the knowledge of completely separate worlds existing far removed from her own. ]

Oh, but there are an awful lot of people here! [ She adds, expression brightening. ] I've never seen so many before-- and so many people have such, strange small ears. Isn't it difficult to hear like that? [ She looks genuinely curious as she poses this question. ] How will you hear what this world's gods have to say with such tiny ears? That's what we're all here for, after all, right? It looks like a lot of people are going to have a hard time doing the gods' work.

Ne, what do you mean 'the surface'?

[ Zelda turns her head to the side, then reaches up with one hand and tugs at one of her long, pointed ears. ] They seem to be working just fine! [ She announces with a smile. ]

[ She cocks her head to the side, looking curious. What an odd question. She struggles a bit to come up with an answer ] The surface... Like where we are right now. You know, lots and lots of ground and rivers and lakes and mountains.

That's good! Ne, I've never seen a human with ears that pointy ...

I guess what I meant to ask was 'the surface as opposed to what' -- did you used to live underground?

That's because I'm a Hylian. [ She points out, then pauses. It feels strange to say it now, all things considered, but it is still the truth. ]

No, no, I lived on an island above the clouds called Skyloft. A lot of people live there. [ She stops to correct herself. ] Well, I guess it's not really a lot when you think of how many people live here.

What's 'Hylian' mean?

How did an island get to be above the clouds? And Skyloft's smaller than Asgard ... ne, what else is different?

It's my race. [ She explains with a smile. ] You know, like how there are Mogmas and Kikwi and Sheikah.

Well, a long, long time ago, there was a terrible war between the surface people and the demons that came up from below the ground to steal a powerful relic called the Triforce. [ Zelda looks incredibly somber as she recounts this tale, though she is trying her best to keep from tearing up. ] The demons overpowered the surface people and even the Goddess couldn't drive them back. She really tried, though! [ Zelda insists. ] The demon king was just way too strong and had too many followers. [ She shakes her head. ] So the Goddess gathered up the last of the Hylians onto a big piece of land where she hid the Triforce and sent it way up into the sky. [ She wipes her eyes on the back of her hand. ] I'm sorry; I don't normally get weepy like this when I tell this story.

Um ... I don't know of any of those people.

Ah -- I didn't mean to upset you! Maybe it's that you're a long way from home ...

((ooc: your thoughtful spoiler warning reminded me! for the record, I'm not a big games person, so spoil me as much as you like!))

[ Zelda laughs. ] Ooops, I guess they're probably only in my world. But you know what I mean about races, right?

No, it's okay! [ She makes an effort to smile. ] A lot happened before I came here and I guess it's still kind of hard to think about. [ That, and she's not entirely sure she's ready to admit to people that she's the goddess from the legends. All these reawakened memories are still strange for her. ]

Hi. The surface? You lived...under?

I never had problems listening to my mother, and she's an earth goddess. Gods usually speak really loudly.

Above! [ She announces brightly, pointing upward. ] I lived in Skyloft.

[ The word 'goddess' immediately pings her attention. Her eyes widen, expression lighting up as she leans in closer to the bracelet. She can barely contain her excitement. ] Your mother was a goddess?! What was she like?? Tell me about her, please!

Oh...what was that? A flying castle? [He saw one once!.]

[Oh, wow, he doesn't get that reaction often. But he enjoys talking about her mother, even if he doesn't know he all that well.] Ah..ehm...he looks nothing like me. [A chuckle.] I didn't even knew she was my create until a year ago. She's really sweet and generous but she can be hard and cruel in rare occasions too because...well, she's nature.

More like a flying island, although the temple of the Goddess was pretty big. [ She pauses to contemplate. ] Probably not as big as a castle though. I'm not really sure how big castles are. [ This is the problem with learning everything about the surface world from books. ]

[ A gentle smile crosses Zelda's face. ] Being nature must be a really big responsibility for her. [ She pauses, a bit hesitant now. Talking with someone who actually knows a goddess is kind of strange for Zelda, but there's still so very much that she doesn't know and doesn't understand that she wants to keep asking. ] Did she create all the living things in your world or does she just take care of them?

A whole island? [Woah woah.] Not so big.

It's quite hard, specially because humanity keeps destroying what she creates.She created part of them, but there are toehr gods.

Surface world?

[Hm...blond hair, pointed ears...she's very similar to Zelda, only not as princess-like. Could she be one of the other Links' Zelda? Maybe...no harm in asking] Zelda?

This place here! [ She answered with a single confident nod. ] Well, not exactly here, but the surface world in my world. The world below the clouds. [ She hopes that at least something she's saying is answering his question. It's a little odd how all these surface dwellers don't seem to know that they're actually living on the surface. ]

[ Her ears perk up at the sound of her name. ] Hmm? Yes?

You lived above the clouds? [He's heard of people living underwater, but that's a new one] How'd you get up there?

[So she IS a Zelda!] I thought you might've been one of the other Links Zelda. You look kinda like the one I know, only she dresses more regally. I think she has to though. ['Cause there's nothing wrong with dressing comfortably! He rather thinks his Zelda wouldn't mind it. She just can't, because of the princess thing]

We've always been there. [ Zelda answered with a shrug, as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. ] Some people even think that the surface is just a legend.

[ 'A Zelda?' She stares, blinking, as though the young boy had spoken in a completely different language. Her brows knit together as she puzzles over his words. ] 'Other Links?' [ Come to think of it, this boy looks really, really similar to Link when he was a child. It's almost uncanny. ]

Yeah, there's two other Links here that are like me. They're both taller than me though. [Tiniest bit of envy]

Wow, I never knew it was such a popular name! [ She smiles. ] Don't worry, you'll be tall before you know it! My best friend's name is Link too and he grew up to be pretty tall.

What kind of world did you live in?

Mii. It's not difficult to hear at all...

[ Zelda taps her chin with her index finger, considering how best to answer this question. ] Well, I used to live in Skyloft, but now I live on the surface. It's really big, like here, but there aren't any people or tall buildings. It's... different. [ Zelda's still not necessarily sure what to make of this world. ]

[ She tilts her head, brows knitting together. ] Really? Are you sure you don't want me to speak up or anything? [ Because, come on, those tiny ears. ]

Was Skyloft a place underground? It must be lonely if there weren't any people...

Mii. [ That sounds like a "yeah, I'm fine." She smiles, nodding. ] Do I sound too loud to you? I can speak more softly. [ Because you've got long pointy ears. ]

Oh no, it's up in the sky. [ She corrects with a smile. ] And there are people, just not as many as here. Everybody knows everybody else in Skyloft, but I don't know if I could ever meet all the people here.

[ Zelda shakes her head. ] Nope! You speak perfectly. It's good to know your ears work so well.

In the sky? Does that mean it's like a flying city? ...Everyone knows each other where I'm from too, but that's because it's a small village.

Nipa~☆ [ Beams happily. ] Are you able to hear the gods with your ears?

Dunno how good humans hear, but the ol' hedgehog ears work just fine.

[He points at one of his ears to emphasize this.]

So, what's this about the surface, anyway? You live in some kinda underground city?

[A place like Lower Mobius is the first thing that comes to mind.]

[ Zelda laughs, clasping her hands together at her chest. ] Yes, you have lovely ears! You must be able to hear the gods even when they're whispering.

[ She shakes her head. ] Oh no, of course not. I'm not a Mogma. [ She giggles. ] I used to live in Skyloft-- it's a big island above the clouds. I had never even seen the surface before until recently.

A floating island, huh? We've got one of those back on Mobius, but it's kinda small.

[Not to mention a wee bit creepy, not that Sonic particularly minds.]

Skyloft is sort small compared to the surface, I guess, but it's the biggest piece of land in the sky. Most of the other islands aren't even big enough to put a house on, but there's one where someone built an inn called the Lumpy Pumpkin. [ She giggles a bit. ] Our weapons instructor at the academy loves their pumpkin soup.

Pumpkin soup?

[Okay, that sounds pretty weird. ...Then again, the "Lumpy Pumpkin" sounds pretty gross, too.]

So there's a random inn floating in the middle of the sky, but it's not part of your island?

[Or chunk of land. Same difference!]

I don't think the size of your ears is what counts...

[Although, come to think of it, maybe it does. Huh.]

Does it matter back where you come from? I can hear you just fine.

Well, not really. [ She admits with some hesitation, considering his point. ] I mean, everyone's ears are a bit different. Link's are kind of short and stubby. [ She giggles. ] But you have such small, round ears...

[Impa might just be in the other room, but she'll respond this way nonetheless.]

It is rather different from our surface world, but there are similarities to it.

[ Zelda loves talking to Impa and smiles at her. ]

Like what? You know the surface way better than I do!-- You've probably noticed lots of things that I haven't.

[Oh, someone else that mentioned the surface world! Huh. She probably knows Link, then.

... But, yeah. He's noticed the ears thing too.]

They are small, aren't they. [But...] I'm sure they could hear fine.

[ Zelda does a double-take when she sees this Link; he looks just like her best friend! The resemblance is downright uncanny. ]

Y-Yeah... [ She mumbles off-handedly as she leans forward and peers at the image, scrutinizing his every feature. These two could be twins in another life. But Zelda can see the differences--this Link has sharper eyes, longer ears (just barely), and hair parted on the opposite side of his face. Even without those, the intrinsic differences would stick out to Zelda. She's known her best friend for so long that she could never mistake someone else for him, even this not-quite-twin. ]

Say, you're name wouldn't happen to be Link, would it? [ The small Link mentioned there being three individuals named Link here. Zelda would be rupees for rocks that this was the third one. ]

[aww yis]

[He leans back instinctively when she leans forward, wondering what she's doing, but... oh! Yes, trying to figure out who's who. Right. Normal reaction.]

It is. [BUT THERE ARE NO RUPEES ZELDA! Either way, he gives a confused look back at her, curious.] You are... ?

[ It's true that there are... so many things that are different. He smiles a little at his own bracelet. It's good to see her in high spirits. ] There are some thing that are similar.

[ Zelda beams at Link. She loves it when she gets to talk to her favorite person in the world. ]

I noticed! Especially that same far away feeling from the sky.

[ And that smile just makes his own widen. It feels like it's been ages since he's gotten to talk to her a lot like this... He agrees with her with a nod. ] It's the same feeling but different.

[ He looks around. Skyloft also felt like this, but at the same time... ] The Surface World felt like home.
