[ having been in asgard for a little under a week, syaoran had been busy getting to know the area and finding out what he could. while he was generally resourceful, there were limits to everything.

so that's what brings him to make a post. he'd do a text if he could figure out how, but for now he'll just deal with video. ]

How long have you been here for?

[ there's a short pause on his end, before he adds in another question. ]

And how long have the people you've known stayed?

[ oh, there. that wasn't so bad! shutting the feed almost instantaneously, there wasn't anything else that he could really add—before he sets out of his house to do some more exploring of the city. syaoran will practically be everywhere during the morning and afternoon, observing both the area and the people around him. it might be a little odd and unnerving at first, but it doesn't take long for him to move onto the next thing if there's nothing stopping him from doing so. everything is totally normal about this, honestly! ]

That part's easy -- but for how long people stay ... it's different. I know a lot of people who've left, but there's also a few who have been here as long as I have.]

There's no time-limit to being here, no certain time where you'll automatically be sent home -- that's up to the gods to decide.

I'm like Conan, I've been here since the first day. And yeah, people can disappear without much warning - they're sent home because it's decided that they're not right for the war. It doesn't always make sense, though.

there's a beat, as he thinks over the girl's words. ] It's like how we're brought here, then?

... Nothing really makes any sense. [ like why even -- take away powers? ]

Yeah, I guess so. They just reappear back at home and time starts again.

[She sighs softly.] You're new here, right? It's hard when you're new, to figure it all out. But you can settle in over time, in a sort of way, and get used to it.

[ She has noticed that he has been wandering around the area for a bit and it kind of caught her eye, so she'll call him out on it. ]

... Hey, kid. Do you think it's safe for you to wander around by yourself?

—I'm not a kid!

[ is his first reaction, before whipping around to find the source of the voice. once he does manage to locate where it comes from, he pauses for a brief second before staring at the stranger directly. ]

And I can -- take care of myself just fine.

I've been here for way too lumpin' long.

I've been here from the first day as well, but some of the people I met later have disappeared... I don't even know how long they were here for.

[There's a pause now.] I dunno, some people keep leaving but some of the others are still here.

[ it's a little frustrating, how there didn't seem to be a clear system of how the sending back and returning worked.

There doesn't seem to be any set time. Sometimes people stay, and then there are others who don't seem to be here for more than a day or so.

I have also been here since they first started to bring forth Travelers, 67 days ago. As for how long some have stayed... Most I met then are no longer here.

Most of the people that have answered have been here since the beginning, or are relatively new. [ there wasn't much of a middle ground.

by this point, he's starting to grow slightly curious, too. ] Was this place a lot different when you first came here?

[ guess who's been waiting outside the heimdall house for a few hours now and is fidgeting and itching to get out of the district but can't because she wants to, you know, make sure that he's okay and hasn't left yet.

though she will make an excuse as to why she's there!

[ syaoran doesn't end up returning to his house until late afternoon. by then, he's gotten enough replies from the people on the network to have a lot to think about.

he doesn't notice sakura until she's a metre away, and that's only because he had enough awareness to at least avoid crashing into people. ]

—Sakura? [ he blinks in confusion. ] You -- ... What are you doing here?

[ without his sensory skills, he couldn't mentally prepare himself for her any more. and that -- really needed getting used to. ]

Hn...maybe going on two weeks?

I see. [ a distinct beat. ] That's shorter -- than a lot of the people who have answered.

[ don't mind syaoran -- he's going to look quite thoughtful too. ]
