「 oɴᴇ ☼ vıᴅᴇᴏ ⫻ ᴀᴄᴛɪoɴ foʀ ɢᴇfıoɴ ᴘᴀʀᴋ 」

[ It's not unusual. The video just opens on a face: nose, freckles, green eyes the brightest of pretty, muted features and darting nervously back and forth. But anyone in the area may notice the trail of blonde hair leading from somewhere in the middle of the park up into one of the tallest trees where Rapunzel is sitting, relishing her surroundings and hiding at once. ]

So… Is — This is working, right? I mean - I've never really used a bracelet to talk to other people before and - [ she laughs nervously, toys with her hair ] Actually. I've never really talked to other people before in general. It's kind of — Well - [ sigh ] I just really have to ask and - [ she winces ] Sorry.

I need to know if anyone's seen a chameleon around. My chameleon. Well - my friend who is also a chameleon. His name's Pascal. And this is his first time outside too so if you could do me an amazing favor and send him to…Freyr House I think the person said? Or just - return him? My name is Rapunzel and… I would be extremely grateful.

[ And then the brilliant speech segues into a faint half-smile, a smile that eventually freezes as something occurs to her and, feigning bravery, she narrows her eyes, scowling to say loftily: ] But if anyone finds him and doesn't give him back? Or - Or they try and hurt him? I. Will hurt you. Because uh - I have a frying pan? And I am so not afraid to use it.

[ beat ]

Al…so. What's - a god?

[ooc; all-day driving, but tags will come later!]

They are both statistics and real, I assure you. Those numbers are small compared to the populations of microorganisms on the planet... And the planet itself is simply one of many in the universe. The universe's scope is exceedingly vast -- mine is, at least, and I see no reason to question it here. Over forty orders of magnitude, in terms of the length scale; and then, there is the matter of time.

Yes. What is time, really? How can we define it except by the processes which it, itself, gives meaning to? We talk about things that occur at a certain rate per second, but how quickly does time pass? It's estimated that my universe began some ten or fifteen billion years ago. On the other hand, the smallest amount of time with some physical meaning is likely to be about ten to the negative forty-four seconds.

The universe, as we observe it directly, consists of three length dimensions and one time dimension, and to find out the smallest or largest unit of space-time, one must multiply all four together.

Wow. I...guess I'd never thought of it that way. [ And she has no idea how they ended up in this conversation but she likes it and she leans in and she smiles. ] You know. I've always sort of...wondered about time. Which direction it went in. You read a calendar from start to finish, right? But that seems kind of silly. Because if you think about past and present and - and then future? Reading things in order loses its meaning. It all kinda happens at once.

Yes, the arrow of time, they call it. There are at least two ways to think about it... On the one hand, physical phenomena are thought to obey the CPT symmetry, which is to say, if all electric charges are reversed, all particles' parities are reversed, and the direction of time is reversed, the physical laws of the universe will be unchanged. So in principle it is as you say.

On the other hand, in the world we experience, there is the second law of thermodynamics, which states that the direction of time is that of increasing entropy. Objects always move towards a state that is more thermodynamically "easy" for them, in other words -- into a more random state, into a state of greater disorder. This implies the heat death of the universe at some point in the far distant future, when all objects are in thermal equilibrium and all energy is simply heat.

...I hope I haven't bothered you with all this, Rapunzel.

Does talking about things like this usually bother people? I think it's wonderful. I've - never been able to really talk to anyone of course. And definitely not - not about things like this. Bookish things. [ as Gothel charmingly calls them ] The only thing that bothered me was you changing the subject again. You changed direction. Talking about how many people there were in the world and world peace.

I'm glad to hear it. Some people seem to think I should limit myself to more conventional topics, that's all.

Telling you about this is surely part of talking about my world, Rapunzel. My world is very large. I can't cover it all very quickly.

I don't mean that. Not really. [ she smiles - albeit slowly ] Just...the parts that are important to you. Not your whole universe. Just - your "world". What you see every day and what you like. The people you know? Mostly everyone knows people.

But I guess that could be one of those conversational topics people don't like too, huh? [ not that it's ever stopped her ]

Well, I thought you said you knew no people yourself. That makes it a criterion which leaves you rather out of it, isn't it?

But very well; I attend a high school, myself. I haven't chosen my studies, but I will probably enter the science and mathematics track. I'm part of a couple of organizations at school.

... Well, I'm afraid that's just the way I am, Rapunzel. It's not an exertion for me to be formal. It would be an exertion to be informal.
