And so the second of declaration of 'war' has ended and this conflict is becoming more pressing, though the gods still seem content to simply watch and do nothing.

[He doesn't know if they're watching or listening to these posts, and he really doesn't care at this point.]

The choice of whether to fight to assist them, to fight to protect yourself and others, or to attempt to keep from conflict all together is one that is becoming unavoidable. These choices are all valid, for differing reasons.

[He's all for choice; choosing to fight, choosing not to fight. He isn't at all interested in attempting to dictate which anyone does. But...]

There are many here, however, who have faced nothing like this before; who have no experience or knowledge necessary to fully consider the implications and consequences each action may yield. In contrast, there are also some with experience in matters such as this; some for who this is not new, or even entirely unusual. Those who are willing to share their knowledge, it would be of benefit to everyone to do so.

[He'll even tell some of his own experience, if it seems warranted.]

I hate to ask for this, but I slowed down a lot of people while I was trying to get to the hospital because they had to stop and help me out. I'm just never going to be able to swing a sword or fight as well as some of the people here, so I think we could use an... an escort squad to get the healers and everyone helping them to the healing stations around the city. It's annoying to be a bother like this, but if we could streamline it somehow, less fighters would have to be taken out of the battle to help people trying to get around.

Don't apologize, Nakama-neechan! As it happens, I think Merlin's friends were organising themselves to be able to help people get where they needed. I think that they'd be up for something like what Nakama-neechan's suggesting.

That's good to know. [And she actually sighs in relief that her suggestion hasn't been shot down for drawing away the fighting force to protect weaker people.] It could be used to help the injured as well, once all the healers are in place. I learned during the dragon attack... it's a waste of resources to have everyone running around looking for injured on their own, and winds up with more people needing to be healed.

I don't know if it's just my impression or not, but I think we could have used the bracelets more effectively to relay information too -- we could maybe have prevented some people going out on their own if we'd been able to let them know there was another group nearby also going to the same place.

We learn something new every time, I guess. [A bit wearily - they're tough lessons.] It's time to start thinking ahead, trying to anticipate. But... I'm not very good at that.

[For a moment, she desperately wants Moji here - until she remembers that he was working with Koyemshi, and all of those 'guesses' were in fact information he knew perfectly well. Her mouth thins into a hard line at the thought.]

We don't have to anticipate everything -- just work out what we want our response to be.

But even that's hard when we don't know what's coming next. Even with the fire and debris, the streets were safer during the dragon attack than the fairy attack. So we planned to gather all the healers in specific places, and then there was no way to get them there. You see what I mean? It's harder than it sounds.

We were intending to talk about putting teams together to help with escorting people who needed it to places of safety in an emergency at Merlin's meeting, but for some reason, that didn't happen.

There was probably so much to talk about that there just wasn't time. We've always got so much planning to do... and for things we don't know or understand. It'll take a lot of time and meetings.

Ah -- I guess I shouldn't be discouraged! The fact that we got that far even -- it's a good first step!

Don't feel too bad. It's easy to feel like you're running out of time when you don't know how much time you have. [She knows that all too well.]

That's -- a really good point.

[There was a gap between being chosen and having the robot appear. She felt that constant weight of "when?" on her shoulders every second of every day. It's not an unfamiliar sensation here by any means.]

I... kind of know how it feels. So we should do as much as we can with the time provided, but there's no point in panicking. That'll slow everything down, in the end.

Don't worry about that! Like you say, there will be other meetings.

I agree. Formulating a team with more offensive abilities or skills to assist those that don't is warranted, and will reduce strain on healers as well.

Exactly. If healers and the people who work with them are having to heal one another... it's just a huge waste of the energy we're given.
